how can you not love this place? it's classic! out of town guests love it for its view and totally marin vibe. watch out for those aggressive seagulls, tho!
Great place to dine el fresco! If you don't mind sharing the space with pigeons and gulls, they've got great food here—ciopinno, fish n chips, steaksando. 😋
I featured Sam's on my latest blog post: Taylor’s Best of Marin: Top 10 Must Eat Meals Before You Die! See what meal was my favorite & feel free to comment and let me know if you agree or disagree! Read more
If you could surprise your new best friend who requested an unparalleled landscape as he turned 27! One restaurant.. One view, one love! And there is more! Not telling!
It's so fun to come to Sam's on a hot day. The view is one of the bests in the bay. The food is good, I love getting their Caesar salad and adding prawns, their mimosas are wonderful too!
Coolest, hippest spot in Tiburon! Sit out on the deck with all the cool people but watch out for the seagulls...they are well versed on boldly stealing food from tourist! : )
Take the ferry over to Tiburon from either the Ferry Building or Pier 41 in San Francisco. Gorgeous views of the Bay, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and SF. Plus they serve beer and lots of it. Read more
A fantastic brunch spot across the Bay with gorgeous views... get there by 11am on weekends to beat the first ferry and the crowds. No reservations accepted.
Beautiful Atmosphere & Awesome food!! Sit inside or out on the deck. Check out the fried Calamri...so good!! The best Fish & Chips in town and their tartar sauce is bomb. No Beer on Tap :(
Since there aren't any umbrellas — a sore spot w/my pasty skin and lack of hair — be sure to ask about sunscreen. They keep a giant jug of it over by the host/hostess station out back, and it's free!
Views are indeed great. I am a tiburon resident so have been here plenty of times. At times the food falls short of expected quality given the relatively high prices.
Congratulations, you've found one of Esquire's Best Bars in America. Sam's outdoor deck is one of the nation's most picturesque places to drink. Good luck biking back to the city.
A trip up to Sam's either via ferry or drive across the Golden Gate is a must do on a warm weekend afternoon. Usually it's 10 degrees warmer than in SF.
Sam’s Anchor Café is a favorite waterfront restaurant on San Francisco Bay. Located in the charming town of Tiburon, we serve delicious American/Seafood cuisine
