It is a bit far from downtowns and beaches. But, don't let this deter you! The food is great, and they have waterfront seating. If you craving some seafood, you will be pleasantly surprised here.
Go crab crazy: get the sampler plate -- big enough for 2 people -- and a crab saladsandwich. Sit outdoors overlooking the canal. And definitely wear a bib.
FRICK'N AWESOME!! Best crabs I have ever had. Get the crab sampler for two, it's AMAZING!! The garlic crabs are to die for 👍 Key West shrimp is VERY good. Get the cornbread too, very yummy 😄❤️
60+yr celeb go-to & A MUST-GO FOR CRAB ❤️’ers! Expect wait, casual svc & loudmallets. Get BEST ALASKAN KING CRAB in US (from “Deadliest Catch!”)! Went 3X IN 1 TRIP..yes, it’s that great!
Stone Claw Crab, Dungenous Crabs, Alaskan King are all amazing. Raw Oysters are huge and fresh (...served properly with horseradish and cocktail sauce). Great seafood, Have fun with the mallets ;)
The RusticInn is a Fort Lauderdale landmark: After 55 years in business, the cavernous restaurant is still packed daily with folks looking to release their aggression on the backs of blue crabs.
Great old school seafood restaurant. If there’s a wait, just wait. It’s worth it. They have everything. Lots of butter too. Not fancy, full bar, plenty of free parking.
OMG... The lunch combo platter is amazing. For $15.99 you get two types of crab, crab cake, fries, cole slaw, and grilled veggies. Stuffed but so worth it! Mmm garlic
Florida crab claws are in season Oct-May and delicious. Fun fact: when a crab claw is harvested the crab lives on! Goodbye to righty one year then lefty the next. Painful but sustainable!
Got the Admiral platter, it was heavenly. Steak was cooked just right, not fatty and the Alaskan King Crab was perfect and plentiful. Great place to have a fun friend or family meal!
Seafood lovers paradise! The Alaskan King Crabs are mouth watering & very filling. Try the seasoned potatoes & conch fritters, you won't be disappointed. No need dressing up, go casual as you feel.

RusticInn is a fun place to go especially for someone who isn't from South Florida. The only bad thing is that they don't have Florida lobster, which sucks if you're trying to be authentic.

What a fun place to eat! We shared a crab sampler and worked very hard and enjoyed every moment. We also shared a bottle of their house wine, woodbridge cabernet. Key lime pie was great, too
Mmm I'm a Marylander so I'm very picky about crabs. Was excited to see that they had Maryland crab, then disappointed that they actually didn't. Still an amazing dinner! Great kickoff to my birthday.
Appetizer: Fisherman's Platter. Soup: Conch Chowder. Entree: lobster Fra Diavolo, but only if you're sharing it or you can take home the leftovers, because you WILL have them. Excellent.
Very casual place in terms of dress code, but best crab I've ever tasted. Ask the table next to water and don't wear dress. Oysters were also delicious!
This is a great place to have seafood, especially crabs! The GarlicDungeness Crab which they are known for is fantastic!! I would fly back to Ft. Lauderdale just for this!
Great selection for crabs. Used to be cheaper and got more for your $$ but then again what place isn't like that these days. Market prices as of 4/25/13:
Mahi was significantly overcooked and tartar(?) sauce was...not good. Ribs were tender, and fries and coleslaw were pretty good. Biggest issue: Birthday parties are serenaded with pounding mallets.
