Pupatella sets the standard for Neapolitan pies in the D.C. area. What started as a humble food cart has become one of D.C.'s most reliable sources for good pizza. [Eater 38 Member]
The pizza is fantastic. Quirky ordering system but really nice staff to help you out. Each pizza is made from scratch right in front of you! Fresh mademozzarella as well
One of the best Neapolitan pizza places ever. Fig and Pigpizza (prosciutto! balsalmic! brie!) is the stand out, but all of the pizzas are worth a try. Mozzarella balls for a perfect appetizer.
Don’t expect much from the decor or atmosphere - but the pizza was awesome. Had the eggplant parmesan which was great, and the mushroom which was not my fave, but here’s to trying something new!
If its your first time make sure to order a pizza. Any pizza. Pick one or make your own so you know what you're getting and then have pupatella blow your expectations out of the water.
The pizzas are cooked I. A huge brick oven that is cool just to look at. The pizzas are all very good. The crust is amazing too. For dessert get the gelato it is really good.
Order the Margherita DOC. Made in the old-world Neapolitan fashion, the pie shines with San Marzano tomatoes, milkymozzarella di bufala and just a handful of ingredients in the dough. Read more
Call ahead and take your pizza to go. It's crowded and the service isn't that great, but the pizza is awesome. It reheats well in a toaster oven, too, because it's a little underdone.
There are very few instances when I like Eggplant. I almost didn't order the Aranccini because of it, but it was superb. It's All in the preparation! Their Pizza, I dare say...is as good as 2 Amy's
This was my sons first pizza (he's one) I don't know how to tell him that not all pizza is this good. I get the specials often. Always interesting. I've never had a bad meal here.
This was my second time here. Lunchtime was super-crowded when I went first, so dinner was a lot more mellow. Pizza is amazing. I've gotten the Neapolitan & the Diavola so far.
Great find in the Arlington area. Parking, $$. Fresh ingredients and tasty well seasoned toppings. Uses high quality cheese. The crust is a bit thin for me but very well done. Yummy
Visiting from north jersey where the Italian American restaurants have big egos. This place has great pizza to brag about. Gelato is ok, but the affogato is good! Friendly staff. Long line to order.
Everything is good. Authentic Italian. Highly recommend the margarita pizza. Also their gelato is great! A pizza will fill you up and prices are more than reasonable!
u guys like this pizza? I'm italian (raised and born), not that this makes better than anybody else but maybe I can have a say regarding pizzas. if you want the real deal go to 2amy's or menomale indc
We recommend: Fried risotto balls with mozzarella and roasted eggplant; Margherita pizza with buffalo mozzarella; chorizopizza with onion and roasted red pepper; prosciutto-and-arugula pizza.
Crust is very good, toppings are slightly above average, overall pizza is a B+. Dumbest ordering & service system I have seen, do not bring a group or anyone who is slightly impatient here.
