- EaterOctober 8, 2013Pupatella sets the standard for Neapolitan pies in the D.C. area. What started as a humble food cart has become one of D.C.'s most reliable sources for good pizza. [Eater 38 Member]
- Behrad EatsFebruary 13, 2016The Diavola pizza is out of this world: spicy salami, fresh mozzarella, and basil.
- Alan BruceMarch 30, 2015The pizza is fantastic. Quirky ordering system but really nice staff to help you out. Each pizza is made from scratch right in front of you! Fresh made mozzarella as well
- D KJanuary 29, 2018Fantastic Italian-style pizza! We love the meatball pizza and the prosciutto and arugula. The arancini are good too!
- MeshaSeptember 17, 2017The right place if you crave a real Neapolitan pizza.. And super friendly ppl.
- One of the best Neapolitan pizza places ever. Fig and Pig pizza (prosciutto! balsalmic! brie!) is the stand out, but all of the pizzas are worth a try. Mozzarella balls for a perfect appetizer.
- Behrad EatsFebruary 13, 2016The Capricciosa pizza is a solid option: sautéed mushrooms, marinated artichokes, prosciutto cotto & fresh mozzarella.
- Andrew DobneyMarch 29, 2022Don’t expect much from the decor or atmosphere - but the pizza was awesome. Had the eggplant parmesan which was great, and the mushroom which was not my fave, but here’s to trying something new!
- If its your first time make sure to order a pizza. Any pizza. Pick one or make your own so you know what you're getting and then have pupatella blow your expectations out of the water.
- julia wineNovember 22, 2014The pizzas are cooked I. A huge brick oven that is cool just to look at. The pizzas are all very good. The crust is amazing too. For dessert get the gelato it is really good.
- Aaron NanceSeptember 3, 2014This place lives up to the hype, even tho it looks like a hole in the wall. Best, most authentic thin crust neapolitan pizza around DC. Eat in house.
- Washington PostMarch 14, 2013Order the Margherita DOC. Made in the old-world Neapolitan fashion, the pie shines with San Marzano tomatoes, milky mozzarella di bufala and just a handful of ingredients in the dough. Read more
- Call ahead and take your pizza to go. It's crowded and the service isn't that great, but the pizza is awesome. It reheats well in a toaster oven, too, because it's a little underdone.
- Ashley MilnorJuly 7, 2013There are very few instances when I like Eggplant. I almost didn't order the Aranccini because of it, but it was superb. It's All in the preparation! Their Pizza, I dare say...is as good as 2 Amy's
- kevin bFebruary 18, 2014This was my sons first pizza (he's one) I don't know how to tell him that not all pizza is this good. I get the specials often. Always interesting. I've never had a bad meal here.
- Amanda HigginsMay 29, 2013This was my second time here. Lunchtime was super-crowded when I went first, so dinner was a lot more mellow. Pizza is amazing. I've gotten the Neapolitan & the Diavola so far.
- BobbySeptember 11, 2016Fried risotto balls were delightful. Crispy risotto on the outside with warm cheese and sausage inside.
- Pizza is amazing, but don't skip on the delicious appetizers. Everything here is off the chain.
- Alex OrrNovember 11, 2013The real margherita is THAT good. Seating can be a clusterfuck so try and score a spot on the overlooked back patio.
- Karen L.April 4, 2012Great find in the Arlington area. Parking, $$. Fresh ingredients and tasty well seasoned toppings. Uses high quality cheese. The crust is a bit thin for me but very well done. Yummy
- Kevin KestlerOctober 29, 2015Insanely good pizza and a great beer selection. There's also a really cool patio area somewhat hidden out back through the red door.
- Stina CMarch 23, 2013Visiting from north jersey where the Italian American restaurants have big egos. This place has great pizza to brag about. Gelato is ok, but the affogato is good! Friendly staff. Long line to order.
- Sophia HOctober 20, 2016Chorizo is perfect for meat lovers, while Spinach is lighter and more varied in flavor (not so "meaty"). Returning for more pizza!
- Everything is good. Authentic Italian. Highly recommend the margarita pizza. Also their gelato is great! A pizza will fill you up and prices are more than reasonable!
- The other reviews nail it. Best pizza around. Recommended for anyone. Well, unless you don't like pizza.
- Majed AlashariMarch 25, 2020Nice classic pizza, however the dough is not crispy and some part of it get burned. Friendly staff.
- Melissa MonsalveJune 5, 2016All the pizzas I've tried are delicious, but definitely don't pass up an order of brussel sprouts!!! They're so delicious.
- Alberto PetraliaAugust 16, 2014u guys like this pizza? I'm italian (raised and born), not that this makes better than anybody else but maybe I can have a say regarding pizzas. if you want the real deal go to 2amy's or menomale indc
- Serious EatsApril 14, 2014Get the Classica DOC ($9) for the crisp, chewy crust, creamy mozzarella, fresh sauce, and aromatic basil.
- Mark TegethoffSeptember 20, 2014The traditional Margherita Doc is everything you'd want it to be. Haven't tried it yet, but the pepperoni also looks delicious.
- Katie MarkgrafMarch 24, 2017Diavolo pizza was great- that spicy salami certainly has some kick to it! Delicious salad and Gelato too
- Washingtonian MagazineNovember 22, 2011We recommend: Fried risotto balls with mozzarella and roasted eggplant; Margherita pizza with buffalo mozzarella; chorizo pizza with onion and roasted red pepper; prosciutto-and-arugula pizza.
- BullmanAugust 28, 2014Crust is very good, toppings are slightly above average, overall pizza is a B+. Dumbest ordering & service system I have seen, do not bring a group or anyone who is slightly impatient here.
- Arin RoneyMarch 28, 2015Everything is good here, especially the Margherita pizza with buffalo mozzarella.
- Joe ZMarch 21, 2018If you're looking for quick pizza to go, they have good quality pizza with lots of options. The service is fast but parking is limited.
- LCJune 2, 2012Everything I've ever tried has been fabulous. The pizza is definitely the best in Arlington. The space is really cheerful as well.
- JH H-DJune 4, 2022This place is an institution! The mushroom pizza is a sleeper, so sneakily delicious!
- Travis RamseyNovember 27, 2014One of the best pizzas in the world. Mushrooms are sautéed. Burratta cheese. Affordable. Not full service. Order then sit.
- Sabrina GuzmanMay 15, 2016The pizza is amazing! It doesn't even leave any trace of grease on your fingers!
- Eric WaltonAugust 21, 2013Excellent pizza, however, I don't recommend getting it to go. The coconut gelato is as good as what I had in Italy.
- Stefano GaggeroJune 22, 2013Great Italian Pizza!! I'm Italian and it's not easy to find pizza like this. Burrata's is fantastic
- Expanded dining room with microbrew bar is a welcome addition. This outstanding pizza is meant to be eaten in!
- Apostolos SamarasSeptember 29, 2017Best pizza in Arlington. Excellent service, makes you feel like home.
