I got the Chicken Fried Steak and loved it. My boyfriend got the Corned Beef Hash, however and found his meal to be soggy and was incapable of distinguishing the potato from the beef in the center.
My favorite breakfast in all of California. Dineresque food with the artsy crowd. Servers are super nice. The guys cooking are fun to watch. The tasty nest is a winner. I go every time I'm in SF
There is only one meal suitable for vegans on the menu: a vegantofu scramble. Food is nice but tip from another user about vegan biscuits and gravy is wrong.

If you don't want to wait in line, head across the street and up the hill a block to All You Knead. Just as good diner style greasy food and never a wait.
The thing about this restaurant is that the food is really good, but I saw a beetle/cockroach inside of the fridge when the chef opened it. Needless to say that is the downfall.
Go to the one on 16th enjoy a comfy booth, tables without disintegrating bottoms, chairs from the last decade and a Fucking MIMOSA! Service is about the same, but a drink makes it tolerable.
