maxim Vdb Bxl: Opera building in neoclassicist style from begin of the 19th century. Definitely worth to go have a look inside. Birthplace of the Belgian revolution from Holland in 1830

Samuel De Bleeckere: This is actually a restaurant. Honest world inspired kitchen, run by Flemish. Menu written on the wall. Tip: Horse steak

Yann Lebout: Une des meilleures adresses de Bruxelles. Des généreuses et délicieuses portions que ce soit en classiques ou en abats, pour un prix raisonnable. Meilleures carbonnades ever!

Peter: Enjoy the wonderful coffee but skip the bagels, they're not on par with their coffee and cake.

Peter: Try the aged Black Angus T-Bone steak

Py van Haute: Try the passion fruit tart.. To die for...

Alfredo: The best noodles in town! Make sure you order them "artisanal", they cost a bit more but they really worth it.

Peter: Try their delicious homemade iced tea on a sunny day on the terrace!

Peter: It's probably not the highest or best equipped climbing gym in Brussels but it has most definitely the best atmosphere! Ask the friendly staff or habitués for advice.

Peter: Located on the 23rd floor of The Hotel, this sauna has an amazing view over the Brussels skyline.

Peter: Free entrance every first Wednesday of the month. The (small) bookshop is full of gems and the fresh mint tea is recommended!

Peter: Great espresso and carrot cake. Their meat comes from Jack O'Shea, nuff said!

Peter: Come around 10 on a Saturday morning. The atmosphere is very different from the center. You'll find lots of high-quality food and snacks. Try the Moroccan pancakes with olives, ricotta and honey!

Peter: Nice book and international press store. They're also one of the few stores to sell Broleskine: a range of unique handcrafted notebooks made in Brussels.

Peter: One of the last few dive bars in Ixelles where there's always something going on. Try Omer (or something lighter) on the terrace on a sunny day!

Peter: Bring your favorite book on a sunny day and enjoy reading in this peaceful park!

Peter: The caviar d'aubergine is the best you'll ever taste in your life.

Peter: An absolute must-visit for art aficionados. The temporary exhibitions are some of the best in Belgium. Come on the (free) opening nights to people watch the notorious beau monde Ixelloise!

Peter: Spend your last €2 in the classic b&w photobooth!

Peter: Just come here for the huge classic cakes, skip the rest of the food and ignore the questionable service.

Elise F: try the cheese cake... very expensive but so gooood!

Peter: You can't beat €5 caipirinhas served from a small red van on one of the nicest squares of Brussels. The atmosphere around the van is just as good as the rum!

Peter: Yes the pizzas are very good and cheap but be a bit more adventurous and pick one of the daily suggestions, you won't be disappointed!

Peter: A highly curated clothing shop for both men and women where all clothes are ordered by color!

Les Auberges de Jeunesse: Did you notice this (really) tiny fritkot ? Don't be afraid : the quality of the fries here is already legendary.

Christos Doulkeridis Laskaris: C'est une librairie située à côté de la Grand Place et qui offre une quantité incroyable de visuels en rapport avec Bruxelles ou la Belgique. Des cartes postales aux affiches en passant par les livres

S Marks The Spots: A cosy cave à manger with an open kitchen. Ideal for a drink and antipasti. Do try the stracciatella! Make reservations, especially if you plan to come in a larger group. Read more.

avaveen: Hard not to turn into a bookworm as you enter this bookshop. Great selection in design, architecture, graphism.

Bram Hermans: Tapas. Jazz. Awesome staff and great design. My new place jn Brussels!

Peter: By far the friendliest bike shop in Brussels!

Peter: Great cappuccino served by friendly staff. They open early around 7 and bake everything in-house. You will come back for their eclectic magazine selection.

Agata: A fine collection of teas and home made pies. Take a seat in the small back room to feel like in a nostalgic old tea house.

Peter: Relaxed city oasis in the Marolles area. The coffee is decent when combined with their fresh cakes.

Peter: Fourth best coffee place in Brussels. The baristas are not on par (yet?) with the great coffees and hardware they have. Get your specialty beans here (they also roast in-house).

Peter: Indeed "better than Starbucks", but worse than almost any coffee bar. Unlike the name suggests, don't come here for the coffee but for the juices and newspaper selection.

Peter: Not your usual coffee place but a must visit. Great espresso but mostly (very) dark roasts dark roasted coffees: not your typical specialty coffee place. Always go for the passion fruit cake.

Peter: Yes it's a chain but... the quality of their bread and pastry is very high. Try the "Pain flamand olives".

Peter: Yes you heard it right: they have a Bring Your Own Beer policy and make some of the best pizza in town! Say hi to Momo.

Peter: Finally back from the dead! Try the fresh donuts from Coco.
