one of the perennially cool spots in the city. Great place to go for brunch or breakfast during the week. sit upstairs in the late afternoon to have a cocktail. American food, slight Southern twist.
The perfect atmosphere for brunch, and the food is delicious! The "gobble-cado" sandwich is one of my favorites. The cheddar jalapeño grits are a must have.
Best Cinnamon Sugar Yeast Doughnut: A remarkably light yeast doughnut with a liberal roll in cinnamon-sugar. It has the slightest whisper of a crunch, and a fluffy, moist interior all the way through. Read more
We can't get enough of the build-your-own-biscuit breakfast sandwiches to cure our weekend hangovers. Order what we order: egg, sausage, cheese and red eye gravy.
LOVED it - great vibe, drinks and food. fried chicken, the "orange" cocktail are both yummy and I need to make it back for dessert - donut bread pudding!!! back for sure.
Here for brunch? The fried chicken sandwich is a must. The BLT was meh, but the cinnamon donut made up for it. Drinks are poured with a heavy hand, especially the Bloody Mary's.
The biscuits are amazing, whether alone with jam or as part of a bfast sandwich. Fried chicken sandwich is awesome. Shrimp and grits were v gravy heavy. Put the aardvark sauce on EVERYTHING.
It's a scene for dinner, so come for a late breakfast or lunch. Lots of light and airy upstairs surroundings make this urban diner a welcome edition to the Bowery. Healthy fun sandwiches are the TOPS!
My favorite light breakfast here is the muesli topped with sunflower seeds, grapefruit, grapes, and berries. Perfection!! Best brunch in the area (besides Freemans down the street, of course!)
If you're looking for a cute place w/ tasty food, friendly staff AND great music - check on in!! Order the Beer battered fish tacos or the Cheeseburger!
Gobblecado. It's a sandwich of smoked turkey with creamy avocado and a chili mayo that does a great job of perking up those mild flavors; Cotija cheese adds the perfect salty bite.
This is one of my go-to "cute" places. Between the build-a-biscuit, pastry case, Stumptown Roasters coffee, and Southern-inspired menu, I end up here a lot. Try the grits if you're really hungry.
Grub Street off-menu dish: "Secret" Burger. "Piedmontese beef slathered w homemade pimento cheese then topped with bacon, pickle jalapeño slaw, pickles, and lettuce. On the side: homemade tater tots."
I can vouch for their cheeseburger. The grass-fed burger was medium-rare perfection. Word of caution: their classic Bloody Mary is VERY spicy (but delicious).
Ask for the special burger. It's not on the menu, but it's delicious and heaped with bacon. Oh, and the fries get swapped out for some ridiculously good homemade tater tots.
Stumptown coffee. Cold brew in the summertime. Treat yourself to some delicious baked goods or if your staying for a meal head to the back for a long communal table or upstairs to a corner booth
The "Blonde Toddy" with gin and orange & ginger marmalade is incredible. If you have a sweet tooth checkout the "Hot Buttered Scotch" it's a salted caramel explosion in your mouth.
my favorite place in the city. Here's what you need to do. 1) order the shrimp + grits (wow!), 2) order the La Chouffe beer (seasonal and awesome), 3) build a biscuit (bacon + pepperjack). Game over!
Sit upstairs at dinner and order the steak and a glass of red wine with your best friend. When the waiter comes by and asks if you want dessert, laugh and say OF COURSE WE OBVIOUSLY WANT THE DESSERT.
The fried chicken is definitely the way to go. It comes drizzled with honey along with a blue cheese wedge salad and a big ol' buttermilk biscuit. Just lovely.
Try the fantastic steakhouse-style cheeseburger, built with tangy dry-aged cuts of grass-fed Piedmontese beef, available in the dining room or as a takeaway item from the downstairs lunch counter. Read more
Justin the bartender made me an original cocktail for my birthday. It was the best unexpected cocktail mix I've ever had. Thank you Justin for making my birthday so "memorable"
It's a nice place for breakfast, but it's also got one of the best iced coffees in the neighborhood. A bit pricey for our taste, but deliciousness is worth it.
Awesome brunch/breakfast place that's open early (7:30am) everyday. A bit pricey. Def didn't get $6 worth of hash brown...or maybe I'm not fancy enough :) cc @Orion @mike (3 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
Cheddar jalapeño grits + kale are great starters. For a hungry day get the shrimp and grits. Otherwise the tuna tartare and quinoa salad are lighter dishes.
The weekend brunch line may be long and it ain't cheap, but the build-a-biscuit with fried chicken and gravy and the absinthe-laced cocktails are good enough to make you forget how long you waited.
Go straight upstairs to the bar and order your drinks from their incredibly good looking bartenders! We’ll have a Buddha’s Prayer followed by an Ichabod’s Old Fashion.
Great brunch for groups with their large booths upstairs, Stumptown coffee/espresso and suberb cocktails at anytime and now they make their own ice cream!? Fan-freakin'-tastic :P Read more
The warm quinoa salad (vegetarian), monkey bread and peels punch (pisco+vermouth+hibiscus+lime) are all delicious. Coffee is excellent too. Overall great brunch spot, although it does get a bit crow
For dinner, get the pork loin w/ sweet potato mash & crabapple compote (as the server said, "It's Fall on a plate") or the lamb shank w/ stewed beans. Wash down with complimentary sparkling water.

Community contributor James Traub likes the buttermilk flap jacks with a spring compote of mixed berries: "The flap jacks were crisp on the edges and pillowy—not doughy—at the center. In short, perf." Read more
One of my favorite burgers. A nice balance between fast food style (shredded lettuce, highly seared patty, potato bun) and restaurant style (white cheddar, caramelized onions).
Build a biscuit and add the gravy, it's well worth it! Just be careful, the waiter might yell at you for being too loud/having a good time during brunch!
For dinner, pork stew was light but hardy, unique and flavorful, seasoned perfectly. Fried chicken, 2 tiny, dry enough to cut gums pieces w a stale biscuit bordered b/w an insult and a rip off.
One of my top 10 brunch or lunch picks: make you're own savory biscuit with cheese, bacon and eggs pair it with a bowl of smoked tomato soup and wash down with a coffee- done this 10x now
Stumptown coffee and homemade Graham crackers. I find myself drawn here mid day and for lunches for a little oasis and break from the gloomy November days. I assume it will be nice in December too.
Get the biscuits - warm, fluffy, crisp edges. Add your choice of bacon, sausage, or ham, some cheese, and a bunch of other toppings - best breakfast sandwich ever
Biscuit Bar: Hungover? You'll find the ultimate cure here, with the Build-A-Biscuit menu. Pile on the eggs, bacon, ham and pepperjack and many others to your heart's desire. Gatorade not included.
