Whenever the Eindhoven light event Glow is starting, this is the most beautiful eye catcher there is. Glow usually takes place in the fall, and hopefully the lighthouse will be there this year as well
In August, Eindhoven's biggest fair takes place right on the Kennedylaan. All kinds of rides for adults and kids, but the best part is 'touwtje trekken' (pull a rope) where you can win awesome prizes.
It's no fun doing this alone, but having a group of people shooting eachother with laser guns is about as good as it gets. They also do pool.
When the nights grow longer and the days get shorter, Eindhoven light city bathes in light with a route to drive or cycle, filled with light art. I love the smurf village the most...
Need to cool off, or need a place to let your kids get rid of their energy? Take them to the pool! It has 4 indoor slides and a wave-pool, as well as this outside area that's open in the summer.
Okay... This should be just offices. But this is also where the expats play soccer, and where people relax and look at the swans at the lake near the strip. So if you're around, go check it out.
On Tuesday (and Wednesday) they have a Dutch quiznight! Starts at 20.30, but come at least an hour early to save a seat. Packed! And fun.
Not recommended to throw your plate on the floor after eating. They do some really nice meat dishes.

This store has all kinds of brands for make-up, clothing, bags and shoes. Check out the Nespresso bar at the top floor as well. (Free coffee, the Dutch love their freebees).
Sometimes they have concerts here, but you can always have a look at this former Philips factory and have a drink at Pop-Ei instead.

Big fan of the Club Deluxe sesame bagel and some fresh orange juice. Retro, funky design inside, but the trip to the bathroom is just scary! :)
Lovely multi cultural food and a laid back ambiance. Try the hummus as a starter. I usually dislike hummus, but that was just too good!
This used to be the Philips light bulb factory and the original floors are still in. They do great Espresso Macchiato's and High Tea, but don't go there for dinner. The service is horrible.

The UFO of Eindhoven is always a crazy sight. Used to be a Philips Science Centre, and every once in a while they still have great expos, open to the public. (Like 'Brain', until August 2012 )
The last home game of the season is the one to experience! When there's no match, you can get a tour of the stadium. Which is fine, if you like buildings. Rather go to a game or concert.
Delicious goat cheese salad with pecan nuts, and a wonderfull garlic and pepper spaghetti (aglio & olio). On hot summer evenings, sit outside in the garden, and share a Pinot Grigio bottle. Very nice!
A vegetarian 'living room' restaurant that has been around for ages and serves the best vegetarian food of the region. They are only open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, so book in advance.
Can get cold in winter, but the food more than makes up for that. Used to be a factory and still has the machines to show for it.
Ribs, ribs, ribs. This is no place for the vegetarians. You can also get steak though.
My 2nd favourite Italian restaurant in town, right next to my favourite one. Good food, good wine, and this one usually does have a table when you turn up without a reservation.
Lovely food and delicious wine! Have the oisters as a starter, or get the surprise-menu by the chef. Don't forget desert though... I had two of them the last time I was here.
Always packed in the weekend. Many nights have been spent in this bar. Sometimes people use the pole on the bar for pole dancing. Doesn't always look good, but good tries. :)
You can't miss the longest bar street in the whole of Europe. Over 100 bars, all kinds of music, and lots of busyness in the weekend.
