Just a few blocks away from the hubbub of tourists is the Jordan section. Peaceful and full of boutiques and eateries, it is quintessential Amsterdam canals minus the rush of tourists.
While they mostly have (quite nice) Dutch pannekoeken, they also have American-style pancakes. You can't go wrong.
Beautiful concert space! Sat on one of the side balconies and had a great experience. There's free wine during intermission but it goes quick.

Thoroughly enjoyed walking around this very old building. Quiet, relaxing, you can feel the history and there are plenty of great architectural flourishes. Cafe with cute garden is nice too.

Picnics, bars, clubs, cinema, galleries, this park has it all! Try biking farther west of westergasfabriek for serene nature including tons of hopping bunnies.
