- G MJune 24, 2016This is my favorite place to visit in Pittsburgh! I highly recommend the encounters/trainer for the day. They are worth every penny. You get up close to the birds and the staff is fantastic!!
- Excellent place. So many amazing endangered birds. Get up close with a sloth or a bunch of penguins. A really fun place to go with your significant other if they like birds.
- Jim FisherOctober 17, 2014This is a great aviary. Multiple open air rooms allow you to get great looks at the birds. The Bald and Sea Eagles are a must see, who knew birds could be that big? The penguins are fun, too.
- Kristin WeisJuly 23, 2014Looked up this place on Google and almost didn't visit because of negative reviews. I'm glad we did though! This place is great. There are a ton of birds to see and interesting demonstrations.
- Danielle RhinelanderAugust 17, 2013Best picture is probaly either the bald eagle or the Baringer Sea Eagle. The Sea Eagle is overwhelming in size when you see it up close. Awesome place. I love it!
- Painting with a TwistJune 21, 2013Penguin Point is the coolest interactive exhibits anywhere. Pop up next to a penguin and check him out up-close. Or stick around and watch a feeding. These guys are worth watching.
- B MackDecember 12, 2015I've lived here for 29 years and have never been to the Aviary. Just went this week and it was awesome. Beautiful birds and beautiful displays here.
- Chris SmithOctober 26, 2015The owl event was really cool, as was the experience of waking right up to a variety of tropical birds... Be sure to listen to the kookaburra, it had me cracking up.
- Mauricio PerezAugust 1, 2015Live feeding was pretty cool, just make sure someone has a camera to catch a picture of it if you get picked to help
- Lauren PhillipsApril 5, 2017Had a great time during my visit. A lot of exotic and endangered birds that you can get up close and personal with.
- Christopher RoeschAugust 9, 2013If you have a membership at your local zoo, check and see if they have a reciprocity agreement with the National Aviary and you may be able to get discounted admission!
- Danielle RhinelanderAugust 17, 2013Love the Aviary! Such a magical place with such a beautiful variety of birds. Love the birds of prey show!
- Chas SteinmetzAugust 1, 2015Wasn't sure what to expect, but this place was a pleasantly surprising hit with my girlfriend and I. Worth checking out for sure!
- Jay WalkerMay 17, 2014I'm actually really impressed by the chicken tenders and fries. They're actually surprisingly good. Tenders were juicy and fries were definitely better than average.
- Marissa HiteJanuary 16, 2017Maybe it's because I'm older, but I really only enjoyed watching the penguins and the sloth feeding. The rest of the Aviary itself was pretty boring. Perhaps it's better for little kids.
- sasha brownMarch 30, 2017The kids love the live feedings. Located right across from the historic Mexican war streets.
- Julia MarascoFebruary 28, 2012On Pittsburgh's North Side, the aviary was built on the site of an old Civil War prison. It is said that the ghosts of the former Confederate prisoners roam through its halls.
- Alin Navarrete Princesa TejanaJanuary 2, 2016You can stay near to the birds. There are amazing species I've ever seen before.
- Alexa (@ladylexy) AndrzejewskiJuly 2, 2012Pittsburgh is the home of the NATIONAL aviary where you can see amazing birds from around the world.
- Amber HarveyApril 23, 2012This place is fun for adults as well as children! Make sure to watch the wings show and catch a live feeding!
- Rachel HaringFebruary 23, 2012Did you know that the aviary is home to more more than 600 birds from around the world, many endangered or threatened in the wild?
- Lauren BaconSeptember 4, 2014Best museum in the city - aviary - bird feeding - family friendly - tourist spot - paid parking
- Brian SearlOctober 17, 2010Make sure you see the new show called "Wings" and watch at least one of the live animal feedings.
- Liz PillarJune 4, 2010In the tropical room, there are blue pigeons the size of a small dog. Try to get close to them, they are really entertaining.
- Judy RankinAugust 7, 2013What a disappointment from what this place was back in 2004. There is much less to see.
- Jonathan PottsSeptember 4, 2011Very disappointed they starting charging for the Wings show. Greatly diminishes the value of a membership.
