Yummy & very unique ice cream flavors. I think they have more flavors available everyday than Bi-rite or other popular places in Sf. The ones we tried were Ube (Purple Yam), Thai Tea & Irish Coffee.
These folks are super efficient so don't get discouraged if you see a long line or if your place in it is 30 numbers back. You'll never wait as long as you think you will.
Had the Grasshopper while my family tried other flavors like Macapuno & Mango (forgot the others haha). Really good & the workers are really nice, very relaxing place to grab a quick dessert🍨💕
Mitchell's has been holding it down since 1953, offering both the standard chocolate, rocky road, and strawberry and our pick, ube, or purple yam. When else are you going to eat purple ice cream? Read more
It's 9:40 pm! This place is busy around the clock! I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Tonight I may go for the grasshopper. My all time favorite is White Pistachio, yum!
Been coming here ever since I could eat ice cream - the seasonal flavors (cantaloupe, pumpkin, and Spumoni) are not to be missed. Or try macapuno for the best coconutice cream ever!
They have old fashionedtraditional flavors like rum raisin, and more modern flavors like Thai tea. Make sure you pull a number because there’s always a line.
Just because it's bright purple, don't shy away from the delicious ube, and you'll never go wrong with their rich & delicious chocolate ice cream either. Read more
A SF must. There are so many different types of flavors and they are the nicest. They will let you sample flavors. Even when it's busy, you get you ice cream with a smile.
After years of hearing how good this ice cream is and there's no going back and so worth the wait! There's no actual line waiting but you simply pull a number and await your turn to go up when called
everything!!!!!!!! My favorite is mango, chocolate, Mexican chocolate, ube, macapuno (sweet coconut). This place is amazing I never go anywhere else for ice cream but here.
The caramel praline is delicious if you love caramel and don't mind the extra sweetness from the pralines. Also, the chocolate peanut butter flavor is insane…and I usually don't like chocolate bases.
A must for ice cream in SF. Toasted almond is awesome, but I honestly haven't gotten anything I didn't love. (Don't forget to grab a number when you get there.)
I've been getting ice cream from here with my family since my childhood years. Today I almost went with White Pistachio again but instead I got festive; the Egg Nogice cream is ridiculously good!
The ice-cream here is so good. These guys have been around for decades and their tropical flavors are particularly famous. Also great to take a pint of ice-cream home for the freezer. Beware of lon
Fight your way through the crowd, grab a number and wait. It's well worth it! Waffle cone with Claire's pie & Grasshopper pie is to die for. Hands down the best ice cream I've ever had. YUM!!
The BEST ice cream outside of Shubert's in Chico, Ca. Take a number and prepare to wait for American and Latin favorite flavors. If you take home a pre-packed tub, you can cut your wait time down!
If there's a super long line, pick a one of the pre-made half gallons and go straight to the front of the line. Then tack on a couple sugar cones and you're set!
This ice cream is to die for and so worth a trip from L.A. to try it! Young Coconut flavor is soooo creamy, smooth, and just the right amount of sweetness!!
I do like Mitchell's and though its one of the 'go to' places in SF but personally I'm not like omg about it but if someone's like let's go then ok I'll go but I wouldn't propose it🍦
Love their grasshopper ice cream! Mint chocolate chip + Oreos. No matter when you come it's always busy but it is well worth the wait. Make sure to hurry in and grab a number.
