The McNichols Building, a historic Greek Revival building at Civic Center Park, served as a library in 1909. Today the building is home to various arts and culturalexhibitions.
Each Friday in July, the Live Performance Series will include cool, cutting edge music from around the Western Hemisphere as well as audiovisual experiences. It will be Denver's hippest destination.
The building is central venue for the 2010 Biennial of the Americas, an international event that celebrates the culture, ideas and people of the Western Hemisphere, hosted by the City of Denver.
The centerpiece of the building will be "The Nature of Things," an exhibition that brings together the art and energies of 24 contemporaryartists from North, South and Central America.
The building opened in 1909 as The Carnegie Library, Denver's first public library. It was designed in the Greek Revival style by Albert Ross of New York.
In 1955, the Denver Water Board moved their offices into the building, removing the original front entrance and modifying the interior to accommodate office space.
