- My favorite restaurant on the UES. Tacos de camarones - ay Dios. Everything is delicious. Service at the bar will seem efficient and impersonal at first, but make friends - they are great bartenders.
- Meaghan SmithNovember 23, 2014Love love love this place. Great drinks, great food. More upscale Mexican (this isn't Blockhead's) but a must try on the UES. I usually get the fajitas but you can't go wrong.
- Polina WeitzAugust 16, 2020What a great spot! Delicious frozen margaritas, great tamales, and superb guac. Fantastic service and nice outdoor seating (during Covid-19). Will be back to try the fajitas!
- Steven AlvaradoJuly 4, 2019Great food, the service is incredible, terrific. You must try the tamarindo mezcalitas. A great Mexican restaurant
- Caroline FlanaganJanuary 3, 2014This place is amazing. Best mexican food I've had in the city and great service even on a busy night. Get the enchiladas!!
- Great options here if you want Mexican but lighter, healthier options. Try the grilled shrimp tacos (so fresh and satisfying) and the tamales (delicious)!
- Ladii DimplezzzSeptember 26, 2014Love their queso fundido with chorizo and huevos rancheros. And I recommend trying their classic margarita with grand Marnier.
- Been coming to Maz Mezcal for over a decade and it never fails to impress. Best choice on the UES!
- Terecille Basa-OngMay 9, 2016Moderately priced & delicious, especially enchiladas, rice & beans, margaritas. DON'T order nachos as it sounds bigger than you actually get
- Jill McBainNovember 16, 2012Food and service were excellent! Fish tacos totally exceeded my expectations. I had the classic marg... It was ok, nothing special. Would definitely go back to try another dish.
- Jonathan DavilaMay 3, 2014Amazing guac. Best refried beans I've ever had. Order the arroz con pollo and send me a thank you card.
- Definitely best Mexican on Upper East Side .... I've tried quite a few and we always end up back at Maz Mezcal!
- Best mexican on upper east sides. Consistently good food. Prices have gone up in years but still not that bad. Get the combination platters
- Emily HymesSeptember 20, 2011Service was great. The food was so good and I love how they refill your chips and salsa throughout your meal
- BrookeMarch 5, 2012Loved the mango margaritas, guacamole and mole chicken. Beautiful sink in the damas bathroom as well.
- Best Frozen Margaritas the Manhattan side of the Rio Grande! Also try fajittas and fish tacos!
- Mike M.August 8, 2014Enchilada plate was a little underwhelming. Small and pretty boring. I would stick with the margaritas and the fajitas.
- Kim MerrittMay 9, 2010Consistently amazing Mexican food! Try the chorizo quesadillas as an appetizer- incredible! The vegitariano combo is great-amazing enchilatas! I think the button on my jeans just popped...
- Ben TannenbaumDecember 28, 2011Arroz con calamares is perfect. I get it every time. No need to mess with a good thing.
- David SimpsonJuly 18, 2011The paella for one is more than enough for two and well worth it. Upgrade on the margaritas for a better drink.
- Fajittas, fish tacos and shrimps in red or green sauce are off the charts!
- Rishi SatsangiJanuary 19, 2015Straight up Mexican place. You won't dislike the food but it's not like a standout or anything
- eric stetsJuly 30, 2011Great service!!! As we sat down ice water, chips and dip were served. Refills on everything without asking.
- Jody WMay 2, 20101 brazen cockroach! see past that, you get interesting artwork, uber-low ceilings, & the FUCKING most wonderful marinated chicken fajita anybody's mexican mother EVER made! beware aggressive hostess.
- If you like your food extra spicy, order your guacamole or other spicy dish with "fresh jalapenos" instead of the typical pickled ones.
- Ask for Steven. Or sit at the bar when Nemo is bar tending
- Tom BurkaJuly 7, 2012Sloooow indifferent service. A couple came in after us. After waitin ten minutes, I beckoned waiter over so we could order. He looked at me and came over and took the order of the couple next to me
- How To Make It In AmericaFebruary 5, 2010Fajita plates and margaritas as massive and immensely satisfying.
