Vytautas Juzėnas: In 1997 the bohemian Užupis neighborhood in the center of Vilnius (separated from the Vilnius Old Town by the river Neris) declared itself a republic and is now “governed” by artists and romantics.
Vytautas Juzėnas: Pilies Street is the oldest and most flamboyant street in the Old Town of Vilnius. Kings, legates of the Pope, and envoys from other countries passed this street on their way to the castle.
