It’s cute and cozy but definitely not suitable for a romantic date night cus it’s crowded and noisy all the time! Don forget to reserve in advance. This quiche was to die for! Don’t miss it.
Traditional Russian fare. Business lunch special is good option. Try Borscht or one of the salads to start. Chicken or beef goulash is a tasty entree. Save room for the unusual Kiev Cake for dessert.
I also meant to add that they infuse their own vodkas - a m a z I n g! And the stereotypical Russian суки (b**t**s) aren't here - they are very nice, friendly, welcoming, and courteous! Здорово!
The beef stroganoff & meat blinis were fantastic. The small table in the window to left of the front door are great for conversation and privacy in an otherwise lively and bustling atmosphere.
This is one of my top 10 places in DC - if not for the en pointe Russian dishes (mushroom/herring soledka , vareniki, solyanka, schi, okroshka, caviar) than for the funky venue & lively, fun enviro!
My best friend is Russian & I have been to many of her family gatherings & the food was just like there. Guy played the accordion=loud & fun entrainment :) Beff stroganoff is the best! Desert=medovik.
This place is amazing! The decor is so unique and classy. Wish we could have tried some of the infused vodkas during happy hour. The duck and pirozhkis were delicious!
If vodka's your poison, Mari Vanna's a place to go. They infuse their own spirits on site. The third floor of the Russian restaurant has more of a lounge feel.
The decor was really cute, and the food was super delicious. Had the Siberian pelmini, pirozhki, chicken blini. The medovik for dessert was also great.
With a menu of 70 Russian vodkas, and a menu stuffed with pierogies, borscht, & beef stroganoff, Mari Vanna is the perfect place to crash for a party with a bunch of friends. Read more
I liked the desserts, but not the coffee because the coffee menu was limited basically. The service was okay, not special. Music was very loud. For desserts try the Medovik cake and Napoleons cake
