For a real taste of Paris (artisanal freshly baked baguettes, buttery croissants and foamy cappuccinos) our favorite spot is Maison Kayser. Great for breakfast, lunch, or a late afternoon treat. Read more
This is one of nyc's best brunches. A perfect place to enjoy your favorite french foods in a great atmosphere. I love the salmon tart one! Oh, and the waiters wear striped shirts!
Pink Praline Brioche was flavorless and a total waste of calories. But the almond croissant was amazing! Nice even spread of marzipan across the entire croissant. Fabulous! Cappuccino was perfection.
French onion soup with a fresh baguette and salted butter was a perfect combination. Desserts with a cup of tea completely made my day, especially a tart with pistachio and apricots is a must try! 🥰
If you feel overwhelmed by the number of options (pistachio éclairs? apple cinnamon brioche?), just remember, you can't go wrong with a classic croissant and a café au lait. Read more
A little bit of Europe on the Upper East side. Wonderful fresh baked breads with jam along with great coffee and breakfast dishes makes for a huge leap up from the Upper East Side diner breakfasts.
Even the simplest tart is a beauty. The raspberry tart has a crisp pastry shell full of a soft, almond-kissed cake, pastry cream, and as many fresh raspberries as it can hold. Read more
Really great food. I lied in France for 2 yrs and know good French food. This salmon tartine was delicious, light, and fresh. Service wasn't good- Staying true to its roots of being French. ;)
Stop in to get a ham & cheese croissant & their amazingly refreshing Summer Tropical Garden Herbal Iced Tea -a blend of mango, pineapple, papaya & peach flavor! 😋
I went there for brunch, which was great, but pretty basic to my taste. However, it's an amazing bakery and the only place in NY where you can find legit French bread! Also, go for the desserts!
Their tartines are amazing. As well as their almond croissants. Their white chocolate brioche is absolutely delicious! Everything here is awesome, so you can just order anythig!
Best Baguette: baguette Monge-slightly swollen at middle & slender at tips, crackly outer crust yielding to a moist, almost damp crumb...tastes buttery w/o butter, rich & complex w. a subtle tang.
They have other Maison Kayser locations in Manhattan, but I prefer to enjoy my Saint Honore with a coffee either on a bench in Central Park or in their bistro after a visit to the Met (or the Frick!). Read more
Pastries and viennoiseries are delicious. I usually come for brunch; an amazing selection of French breakfast foods, all fantastic! The service is always quick and friendly.
The beastly Plie au Chocolat features an ample dose of pastry cream and chocolate chips that will give you a first class seat on the Feel-Good Express from the first bite.
Pain de Gruyere = to die for. Your mouth won't know what to do except smile :) Get a loaf to go if the bakery line isn't too long. If so, you can buy at the table at restaurant price for $0.50 more.
Perfect place for breakfast meeting, girls lunch/brunch or anything involving parents. Exceptional French desserts and pastries, great steak tartare and excellent gazpacho.
breakfasts are amazing... killer egg dishes. only complaint is no alcoholic brunch beverages. so if you *need* a mimosa or bloody mary, this isn't the right place.
