Owned by my first NY friend Jean Goutal, Le Colonial opened 20 years ago at the same time as Daniel. Old New York vibes and tasty Vietnamese cuisine. Get the delicious and fresh Goi Cuon to start.
Met here for lunch. Do have a nice lunch express option, at this restaurant been back a couple of times, The entrees are definitely french inspired, and small traditional french serving sizes.
I'm not one for Vietnamese food but this place is so good it makes it hard to hate! Fillet minion was cooked to the right extent making it juicy and tender. A hidden local NY gem.
Pretty restaurant w/a colonial feel downstairs&a sexy, loungy, clubby feel bar upstairs. Vietnamese fusion - cod: moist&light, duck: tender, a touch dry, but still good. Service was attentive&good.
The quiet, low-lit second-floor lounge is the perfect choice for a romantic rendez-vous or a drink with the girls. Try the eponymous “Le Colonial,” with Tanqueray, cassis and raspberry puree.
Duck Spring Rolls and Monk Fish apps, Filet Mignon w. Yams and Scallop and Shrimp over Vermicelli Veg salad. Best lychee martini and a very cute hostess.
Overrated! Really bad Beef pho and bad duck bao buns. Dark and dingy place I honestly don’t understand what the fuss is about. Happy hour half off drinks 5 to 8 pm
