Favorite Malaysian-Thai restaurant around union square. Roti canai is a must. Expand your palate and try the Malaysian curry served with squid, okra, eggplant and tomatoes in spicy yellow coconut milk
Got the Roti Telur, dumplingfritters, night market noodles and nasi lemang, all washed down with some Singha. Such a flavor trip! Loved everything and definitely going back for more.
Went here for the first time yesterday. The roti canai is excellent. The spicynight market noodle was brilliant! Ask for the hot sauce. Loved the food, the whole ambience, and choice of music (A+)!!
Nyonyavegetables were fresh & crispy but best with sriracha, $13 with white or brown rice. Red curry was medium spicy with tofu and eggplant, $13. Both recommended for a quick meal pre movies.
The Assam Laksa is great (packs some 🔥 tho, so be warned!). Decent Malaysian food and relatively inexpensive. Get the roti, the char koay teow and the Teh Tarik (“pulled tea” with condensed milk)
Curry Laska was amazing! I love eating spicy but usually cannot handle it! But this was amazing and just the right amount of heat for me! Nice comfortable environment for dinner with old friends.
Laut offers laksa, a traditional spicy noodle soup in both curry and asam styles, water spinach heavy with chile and shrimp paste, sotong goreng (fried squid with chile), and crisp roti canai. Read more
One of the few really quality Malaysian restaurants, featuring curries, sandwiches, noodle dishes, good imported beer, and drinks. Desert should boot be missed here either. Sweet coconut rice.
Delicious food! Gotta try their soft shell crab with steamed baobuns and laksanoodles. I don’t recommend the coconut pudding. Not that flavorful and textually is like jello
standard fare of staple Malaysian food! Great atmosphere and friendly staff (that also seemed super busy and wanted us to finish quickly, but super friendly!!). Good assam laksa and roti canai.
Love their roti canai and coconut juice. Lunch special is great. Tried veggietom yum soup. Vegspring rolls okay. Massaman curry was great. Get reservations if going for lunch.
Start with the Roti Telur and the DumplingFritters, followed with the Chili Crab and Char Kueh Teow (add shrimp!) - the most delicious meal and great date spot
The drunk man noodles are delicious but they only had half of the cocktails on their drink list available and they rushed my party out of our reserved table to make room for the next reservation.
The beef rendang was amazing. The sambal dishes also. The Roti Jala wasn't so good as the roti was more of a lattice and hard to handle. The tofuskewer also not a great choice as Deep fried tofu
Drunk man noodles and hainan roast chicken were great! The mee goreng, night market noodles and nasi lemak were a little meh but I could try again. The best thing was the tandoorisatayskewers!
Spiked Thai iced tea and a damn good menu! I've had a majority of appetizers and they do not disappoint. If you're looking for something spicy, make sure they know.
Our server was the most enthusiastic waiter I've ever encountered. Ha. He was very funny and sweet. The Massaman Curry was very good. Overall good experience!
Roti, hakka chilifish, drunk man noodles are 👌. The "famous" dishes (i.e. hainanese chicken, nasi lemak, beef rendang, ultimate curry laksa) are disappointing / or are better done elsewhere.
Try the flounder.. the best I've tasted.. large plate. Fish deboned cooked just perfct with. A special looked like shredded mat on top. Mangorice for dessert
The secret is out now that Laut was just awarded 1 Michelin star. First ever star for a malaysian restaurant. Much more crowded than I've ever seen it here, so be sure to make a reservation now.
