I was there with local friends to try the typical codfish recipes. I had a chance to try 4 different recipes as we did a family style. I definitely enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.
Everything was nice. The environment, the service, the food itself (cause after all, this is what it's about). Great value for money, maybe even paying less than what it's actually worth. Keep it up!
I would recommend "Laurentina" to anyone. I had the Bacalhau com Broa and I was really surprised by its presentation, the flavour was wonderful. I also had the Baba de Camelo suggested by the staff.
The bacalao was very good. We tried it three ways, with cream and spinach, Spanish rice and the Mozambique stew. The Spanish rice was the best tasting like a soupy paella. The Camel’s baca was good.
The food is great; try the moqueca and the lascas de bacalhau, as well as the Mozambican beer Laurentina. The service is slow and prone to mix/forget orders though.
"Bacalhau a Laurentina" is also an incredible dish! It comes with a typical and special potato, called "batata a murro". Delicious! If u go there, you'll surely experience nice food and nice service.
Pluses: the portions are big. Minuses: the food is of average quality, the service is very slow, it smells bad in the restaurant, interior design is from the 90s. In a nutshell - very bad experience.
