Lauren: Legit speakeasy from the days of Prohibition, complete with serving alcohol in coffee mugs. Open the gate, down some sketchy stairs, through a dark hallway, up some stairs, and open the door!
Lauren: Of cronut fame. Go at like 9am on a weekday, skip the lines. They only serve 1 flavor a month, max 2 cronuts pp. If you don’t like the flavor, I love the choc chip cookies, the kouign amanns, croissants, and s’mores shot.
Lauren: Shows are $10-15, famous comedians will swing by here to test new material
Lauren: Great sushi, great value. It’s not cheap, but not expensive, by sushi standards. I typically order the sashimi/nigiri platters
Lauren: Fratty, but fun outdoor beer garden at the Standard hotel. Get in line to enter, then another line for “tickets” to buy beer or drinks
Lauren: Dancing, great for a fun night out in NYC! Come early to avoid lines on weekend nights
Lauren: Famous for tonssss of flavors, feels like a “laboratory”/science vibe
Lauren: Some of the best gelato in nyc, love the dark chocolate here, but the fruit ones are great too
Lauren: Only come if you like mussels, but also, the Portuguese donuts for dessert are BOMBBBB
Lauren: The number of bagel // cream cheese combos here is insane. V generous portions, but be prepared for lines on weekends
Lauren: Great $40 AYCE brunch on Sundays with live jazz, performers also come some weeknights. Comfy couches seating and no cover (but drinks are like $20)
Lauren: Michelin-starred Thai-inspired, with no pretentiousness. Some of the best FOOD in NYC, haven’t ordered anything I didn’t like here. No reservations, so come early, put in your name, then go to “Mother’s Ruin” or “Sweet and Vicious” nearby to wait.
Lauren: There’s a great pudding place inside here (strange but like banana/vanilla wafer pudding in all different flavor combinations) and amazing chicken rice stand too. Fun place to walk around and shop, like a fancy farmer’s market
Lauren: Swanky, trendy ship with oysters and rose and cocktails. I’d recommend grabbing a spot on the deck to the right side #views
Lauren: One of the best spots in the summer — plant-filled decor and watermelon margs are legendary!
Lauren: One of my favorite speakeasies, hidden behind an art gallery. Love the vanishing point or the blackberry marg. Go to dance in the bar beneath it (next door) afterwards!
Lauren: Famous square shaped pizza (pepperoni is the classic), wait in line OR order a whole pizza for takeout and skip the line
Lauren: Hidden gem of a garden on my favorite street (Elizabeth). Good for walking around and then exploring the area
Lauren: One of my top 2 fav ice creams in NYC; the brooklyn one has a rooftop too!
Lauren: One of my top 2 fav ice creams in NYC; the “natural” inspired flavors here are scary good! went like every other day, this is a chain so they’re everywhere in nyc
Lauren: An artistic interpretation of Macbeth that’s unlike anything you’ve experienced!
Lauren: Rooftop here has amazing view of Central Park and rotating exhibit in the summer
Lauren: Can be packed on nice weekend days, but fun on a chill weeknight for rooftop cocktails
