There are only 3 bridges across the Grand Canal, each is unique, there are toilets under the steps. People have been putting padlocks on the bridge.
Incredible array of tombs, memorials, altars, carved wooden choir stalls, a Titian and a Donatello sculpture. Not bad going for one church.

It became a cemetery in 1807 as burial on the mainland was decreed unsanitary. Bodies were carried here on special funeral gondolas. Last home for Igor Stravinsky, Joseph Brodsky, Jean Schlumberger.
