all of our massages are performed by licensed massage therapists who have completed their massage training at an accredited massage school. they all continue to further their knowledge of bodywork through advanced trainings in massage as well as in other related fields. some are yoga teachers, nutritionists, Reiki practitioners, licensed in other spa fields, and of course, all are zen masters

All massages are either 50 minutes: 130 or 80 minutes: 175 unless otherwise specified

Block island organics is our own sunscreen and skin care line. It began because we couldn’t find a good quality, lovable and safe sunscreen line to bring into koru. So we set out to develop our own sunscreen. Skin care products grew from that as a way to ensure we gave our customers the facials, products, and ingredients we have researched and we believe lead to good skin health

There are tons of non-toxic product lines we think are great and we still use some in our services; however, having our own skin care line gives us the ability to give our version of a complete custom facial experience

All facials are customized to skin type. They include a skin analysis and a scalp, neck, face, upper back, and shoulder massage

A frequent comment we hear when walking into our spa is the lack of that harsh nail salon smell. That’s because we only do natural nail services and all our nail services incorporate only non-toxic products and ingredients

All nail services are finished with our favorite non-toxic polish lines. There are some pretty harsh chemicals in nail polishes, most notably are the big three: toluene, dbp, and formaldehyde. So when you look for a nail polish make sure it’s “3-free”

We realize sometimes our customers are in a bind and need help with repairs, cracks, and the removal of artificial nails and we are happy to help when we can, which is more often than not

Those same amazing massage therapists who bliss you out in a massage perform our body treatments so you are sure to be in expert hands. We make up our own body treatments and our therapists can be found mixing up the ingredients fresh for your service just before you arrive

body treatments are fun and full of amazing ingredients from local island grown honey to French seaweed and African clay. all the fun can get a bit messy, but your service finishes with a shower. best of all, all of our body treatments include a shortened full body massage. so a body treatment is really the perfect combination of a massage and a facial for your body

We use a variety of organic and vegan hard and soft waxes and pre and post-epilation products. It might seem like waxing is waxing, but it does make a difference what products you use

The wax you choose, the pre-wax and post-wax products all affect the quality of your service and your skin’s reaction

We have tried and tested a variety of hard and soft waxes over the years to find the ones we feel perform the best and are kindest to your skin

A vacation is a chance to refresh yourself spiritually and physically. A fresh haircut, quick blow dry, color touch up, or a makeup lesson can give you that extra spring in your step

Koru offers a full service salon with services ranging from cuts and color to blow drys and makeup services

While koru hair stylists are excellent at regular cuts, colors, and blow outs their specialty is wedding services. Most importantly our stylists know block island. That means they can take their experience and understanding of hair and makeup and apply it to the particularities of weather and location that block island brings. They understand and have perfected the block island natural look and they stay current with the latest looks and trends in order to provide you with any look you want

A bridal trial is required and included in our wedding pricing as our utmost concern is that you are happy with your look and your stylist. At a trial you will try out different hairstyles and discuss any concerns you may have. A trial ensures your wedding day runs as smooth as possible. Book your wedding services with us and relax knowing you’re in professional, responsible, and knowledgeable hands

Our pricing below is for wedding services to be done in our spa. However, we will go off-site for the cost of the location fee listed below. Also, please note a wedding contract is used to reserve wedding services for your big day. Lastly, upon booking your wedding services with us koru is happy to offer you and anyone in your wedding party 10% off the cost of nail services

Our wedding rates are reflective of the level of experience, training, care, personal attention, and talent you will receive when your book your wedding service with koru. Additionally, you can be sure only industry best hair and makeup products are used
