Kitayama was such a great place for dates few years back. The furnitures are a bit worn out, but the court yard still pretty. Most surprising was their vegan option! Very innovative and delicious.
Come for lunch it's cheaper and the specials are great. Best is Friday for the garlic salmon. If you come for dinner check the board thy often have live shrimp and yellow tail collar
Go for the lunch specials and call ahead for a reservation. This place can get pricy and crowded. I enjoy their organic teriyaki chicken with sushi and salad. Yum.
Sit at the sushi bar where Jun is serving, he's the most skilled sushi chef at Kitayama! Sushi prepared for tables is made by the most junior sushi chef.
Management must have changed; food is different from before. More "Americanized" and not as traditional as before. Service is still great, but... Unfortunate changes imo. Maybe better in the future.
