The Duck Pond Park links to Solitude, the Amphitheatre Garden, and the Tent Lawn Garden. Take a walk around.
Be sure to see the rare and grossly pungent "Corpse Plant" in the greenhouse. The smelly plant puts forth one blossom every four to 10 years, and that blossom is quite smelly. It last bloomed in 2006.
Tucked against the wall of the University Bookstore facing Newman Library is the sculpture "Polytech Marker." The university commissioned artist Beverly Pepper to create it in 1983.
Find the gargoyle on top of the building. (Need help? It's perched at the corner adjacent to Eggleston Hall and the Drillfield.)

The visitor center is open weekends! Come by from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Look for the Atlas Cedar on the southwest corner of Slusher Hall. The tree, a distinctive blue, is native to the Atlas Mountains of Morocco and Algeria.
