Virginia Tech: Be sure to see the rare and grossly pungent "Corpse Plant" in the greenhouse. The smelly plant puts forth one blossom every four to 10 years, and that blossom is quite smelly. It last bloomed in 2006.
Virginia Tech: Tucked against the wall of the University Bookstore facing Newman Library is the sculpture "Polytech Marker." The university commissioned artist Beverly Pepper to create it in 1983.
