As the name suggests, the Earth Room is a room full of dirt. Rich, dark dirt, knee deep, housed in a 3600 square foot room in Soho, intriguing viewers for the past 30 years.

This work of art by Walter De Maria consists of 500 brass rods laid out in 5 parallel rows, creating a mesmerizing effect on its viewers. The Broken Kilometer has been here since 1979!
