Great coffee. The short rib sandwich is great (and intense, get it if you're hungry). Tons of deserts, deli treats and bread (the French baguette is delicious). I have to come back and try everything.
Favorite place in LA! For brunch I shared the fresh mozzarella and basilsandwich with my boyfriend. Everything was perfect in it. You can also buy cheese, breads and many other perfect things. 😍💛
The short rib sandwich is worth dying for. But if you like lobster rolls, they have it here too on weekends and on some spontaneous week days. Solid brunch food weekdays and weekends!
It gets overly crowded on the weekends. order from the left side to avoid the longer lines from the market side and get the tables in the back on the left side, less people are hounding it.
This is the place you’d love to drop in for a quick lunch every day, except nothing here is quick since it’s packed. Think WholeFoods deli/gourmet, but much better. Short rib, Brussel salad 👍👍
I had their grilled cheese with bacon, and tbh when I first got the sandwich I didn't think it would be filling, but it was! The bread was perfect and the bacon was crispy and it was very yummy!
The trio salad is a good way to sample the delisalads. The curried chicken salad and farro butternut is tasty but wish there was more butternut and feta cheese. Short rib sandwich is also bomb.
With its location a sidewalk seat at Joan's is hard to snag but well worth it for people-watching while noshing on meals that range from light to comfortingly filling. Read more
I adore this cafe! It’s a Cute, spacious, well lit bakery / cafe. However, The buttermilk pancakes were very simple and quite the bore with no sweet offerings such as fruit on the side.
If you come for a meal, leave with a container of their famous (and delicious) green goddess dressing, which can be found in the dips and dressingsfridge. Makes for a delicious veggiedip!
Elegant french cuisine with moderate portions of food.. Was able to try couple of dishes.. Go for the pancakes.. French toast and their tuna sandwich.. Avoid the egg Benedict
The best espresso (I’m obsessed) and homemade desserts. Skip the other dishes and come for the low-key, "work-on-your-laptop" coffee shop experience. Read more
A gourmet marketplace and café favored by celebutantes and busy moms, Joan's on Third shakes up its menu daily. Everything is made from scratch in-house. Read more
There are THREE locations with cash registers (the deli case, the middle of the marketplace and the bakery). Look for wherever has the shortest line, you can order any food from any register!!
People rave about the Meatloaf and the Chinese Chicken Salad, but honestly Joan's crushes it on everything. This place is almost always a zoo, but it's kind of a necessity to come when here.
Must-haves: For breakfast, the “Egg Basket” omelet with asparagus and goat cheese or the house-made granolaparfait; for lunch, Joan’s Turkey Meatloaf or the croque monsieur can’t be beat.
Joan's is a household name for LA locals and a hotspot for celebrity sightings. Come in and pick up a fresh loaf of bread, or stay and order a hot dinner. You can count on fresh, natural ingredients.
There's certainly no shortage of creamy cheddar or butter on Joan's indulgent grilled cheese, which is served with a side of her famous pickles to cut through the heaviness. Read more
Soft boiled eggs with honey toast are to die for. Great coffee too. Order inside, grab your number and then sit wherever you like. Perfect breakfast spot!
I love riding my bike here on a Sunday afternoon with a good book, Joan's devine coffee and Ella Fitzgerald playing in the background. It's a slice of life I cannot live without!
Everything's delicious: hot, cold, meaty, cheesy, vegetarian, breakfast/brunch/lunch & dessert. Equipped with a mini market and celebrities to ogle. Be prepared to wait a bit during full lunch rush.
If you need to take a break from shopping along one of the few pedestrian-friendly strips in L.A., Joan's on (West) Third (St.) - a market-meets-cafe - provides fresh goods and delicious cupcakes.
Katie Lee, author of GROUNDSWELL, highly recommends the molasses cookies. To get on the same wavelength as Katie Lee grab a picnic basket to bring along for surfing at the beach.http://bit.ly/k56VHC
