A mix of restaurants, parks, historical places and stores. This is my Providence.
1. The Edge Cafe
Jayne Travers: Great for reading, relaxing, excellent food and drink. Not to mention the free wifi
2. Prospect Terrace Park
Jayne Travers: For the most beautiful views of the city
3. Tazza Caffe
Jayne Travers: Great music, drinks and atmosphere.
4. WaterFire - Waterplace Park
Jayne Travers: The music, the food, the crowds, the smell of the wood burning.. Best later in the evening when the crowds have thinned out.
5. Nicks On Broadway
Jayne Travers: By far, the very best brunch in Providence. My go-to place for special occasions. Be prepared to wait.
6. John Brown House Museum
Jayne Travers: Excellent tour guides. Very informative about RI history in relation to the slave trade. Well worth the time.
7. Blackstone Boulevard
Jayne Travers: Best to go after 9am. Not as crowded. Look for the statue of the girl near Laurel Ave. Beautiful.
8. Books on the Square
Jayne Travers: Could literally spend HOURS browsing through the books, journals, toys, etc... They have authors do readings and book signings regularly and story time for younguns. Great store.
9. Wildflour Vegan Bakery and Juice Bar
10. Frog & Toad
Jayne Travers: Best little shop in Providence. Totally eclectic gifts. Give yourself at least 45 minutes to look at all of their little treasures.
