After the Battle of New Orleans in 1814 the square was renamed Jackson Square after General Andrew Jackson. Jackson Square has been featured in movies, including The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Since 1947, the studio has been as much a part of Carnival as the parades. The studio produces floats & props for over 40 New Orleans parades as well as pageants around the world.
The museum includes cures for anything that ails you including voodoo potions & other weird medicines. The City of New Orleans operated the museum from 1950-1987, it's now run by a non profit org.
