Great staff, great rooms, great hotel! Drinks at the bar are pricy but the free nuts/nibbles are nice! TIP: It's not made clear, but Wi-Fi is FREE in the lobby. So avoid paying to use it in your room!
Rooms are not small, very clean, and have great views! Staff is very friendly, and hotel is convenient to everything. Breakfast is very good, but if you aren't a gold member, 2 people will cost $52.
Had a great time and this hotel is a great location. Super friendly front desk staffcatered to us! Just wish we could've stayed longer, views from our room were amazing.
Loved everything... BUT (and yes, a big but) the room would cut off the ac when we would leave for long periods of time... So after walking around all day we would come back to a warm room! Not kewl!
The smell as you walk into the hotel from outside is one of the best! (And maybe the smell you're coming from plays it part) but definitely makes you feel good... Someone find out the smell!
If you are having breakfast at the buffet, simply adding your toast and pressing the lever down won't do a thing. You must turn the dial to start the toasting.
Location is everything, especially in NYC. With over 40 stories in Midtown, all above the 15th floor, you'll be able to see most of the city from the comforts of your room.
Awesome location. BIG rooms for NYC (we did get a free upgrade). Room 3522 has a view of the statue of liberty and the empire state bldg. clean and nice. Major bargain at $159. Would have paid $229
Great variety of food in the area. Two solid pizza places across 42nd, Pax Wholesome Foods has the best. Heartland Brewery has good food at a reasonable price. Many others to choose from.
Rooms are very large & nice compared to most others in the city. Hospitality is impeccable. Drinks at the bar in the lobby is pretty expensive. For some reason, my Verizon 3G works slower in the room.
The Hilton Times Square features art from Tom Otterness. Look for one of the boy (who appears to be possibly homeless) and his dog tucked away in a corner.
Since you're so close to the Winter GardenTheatre (50th & Broadway), catch a performance of MAMMA MIA, now 11 years on Broadway. For best availability, try a 2pm Saturday or Sunday matinee.
At the moment it is impossible to get in the building from the 42nd street side so be sure to have your caddy drop you off on 41st. Quite a bit of construction in the area.
Room service closes at 10:30pm so no midnight feasting, but they'll give you the number to a 24-hr place. Gym is open 24hrs w rm key and is usually empty at night and fairly busy early morning.
Positives: great gym area, friendly staff, close to major subway lines/connections, spacious rooms Negatives: Awful and overpriced buffet and rude restaurantwaiters
The room was not very clean when we checked in. Stain on table & bathroom counter, blanket in closet stunk, Pillows are horrible. There is no bathtub non slip mat. We requested but they were out. Meh!
