Mondays are All You Can Eatbrisket, pork spare ribs, marketchicken & sides. I recommend the mac & cheese, sweet potatobourbonmash & corn pudding. Make sure to go there hungry, it's a lot of food!
The BBQ chicken quarters are amazing! So tender! Don't miss Happy Hour - the bar tenders are entertaining, the drinks are great and the salsa has a smokey twist that leaves you craving more!
Monday nights are All-you-can-eat for $20. Good deal b/c you'll probably order that much meat/sides anyways. It includes brisket, chicken, pork ribs and all sides. Pair it with a pitcher of Shiner!
Finally! A place that serves BBQ in a style not from the Carolinas! Pure Texas BBQ—smoky, wet, and juicy. And karaoke downstairs on Wednesdays with a live band if you're musically inclined.
Fantastic BBQ! We got the Two Step combo and it fed our family of four. I highly recommend this place! Get Mac and cheese w/ a side of chili to mix in! Sweet potato bread pudding is divine!!
Try the moist brisket, the sausages imported from Kreuz Market or any variety of sides. Most nights of the week bring live music and pitchers of Shiner are always $20. [Eater 38 Member]
I love this place. A great spot after a Sunday at a museum nearby. I do warn you though a pitcher of margarita and a delicious meal here will put you in a food coma for the rest of the day.
SO good ! 1st time here , great service & great food ! Fresh squeezed lemonade was EVERYTHING ! Mac & Cheese was perfection along with the campfirebaked beans !
Very good! The potato salad is a must! Chicken was average, BBQ Ribs were great, Mac and Cheese was average. Skip the sweet potatopudding. A bit dry. Cookies are great. Great atmosphere. Family.
So many good tastes- it’s like a party in your mouth! We really liked the pulled pork, lean brisket, mac n cheese and sweet potato mash. Highly recommend
Definitely Texas-style BBQ - moist brisket, Mac n cheese, and collards are all amazing. Great venue for live music downstairs - thank goodness for the coat check.
Food is amazing. I had the mac and cheese as a side with chili right on top of it. Also, live karaoke with the band is the greatest idea I have ever heard of. You need to try it. I love this place
The brisket, the ribs, sausage, chicken, sweet potato mash, mac and cheese. All of its good, the service, Mason jars of soda, the ambience, its awesome.
Get the platter(s) and a margarita pitcher. Great brisket and pulled pork. Also don't forget the sides...the sweet potato mash and green beans are killer
The moist brisket is incredible, there are great margarita pitchers, shineron tap, $3 PBRs, karaoke downstairs on Wednesdays and old school country on Thursdays. Perfection. Avoid the potato salad.
I love all the food at HC (never had a bad experience). However, try to avoid a 2-top if you are able. The smaller table can be constraining while you're trying to get your eat on.
The sausage is great, the sauces are definitely Texan, however I dont think I’ve run in to a butter with orange in it for the corn muffins. A nice combination!
The moist brisket wasn't as moist as I expected it to be. The prime rib was a pleasant surprise. Show up early as the short rib seems to sell out quick.
After a week in DC I stumbled upon this place because the Indian joint I wanted to visit had a wait. And I am glad. Total surprise. Sampled everything. All of it was excellent.
All the meats are good here, but the brisket is awesome. My new favorite BBQ spot! I also love the mac & cheese and cole slaw. Monday nights are all u can eat! #winning
The "Hill" has to one of the best BBQ I have ever had. And I have been to Tenn. and TX. You will not go wrong with this place. It easily competes with other well named BBQrestaurants.
Their "unique" style of service is a poorly-executed attempt at originality. Make sure you know what you want before you go the the marketplace and get barked at by a-holes. Food is good though.
The moist brisket is thick and juicy, no knife required to cut it down. The ribs and chicken are so-so. The cornbread is soft and sweet--get it! I recommend moist brisket, beans and cornbread.
This is the second time I have come here for take-out. Both times everything was great EXCEPT the chicken which was undercooked to the point of being bloody.
The service is pretty terrible here when things get busy, but it's a great little piece of home if you're from Texas. Oh, and check out their live music nights!
Go with the brisket (moist over lean) and get the corn pudding or mac and cheese. Skip the cornbread, it was dry. Awesome bar scene with live band karaoke.
Hill Country honors the barbecue and live music capital of Texas and takes its “cue” from the legendary meat-markets-turned- barbecue-joints of Central Texas with their distinctive, dry-rub style.
