Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! The beers are German & cold (Get a boot) The food is plentiful, traditional & mouth watering. Sausage platters, crispy potato pancakes & all the sides you would expect

Been wanting to visit forever and OMG, everything was well worth it... 3 of us shared some sausages, a pretzel and schnitzel, plus various apps + the German beer was all so tasty and delicious!!!
Split the Jaeger Schnitzel entree with a friend and it was rich but delicious. Spaetzle was crisp and buttery and the red cabbage was perfectly tart and sweet. Order it with beer and you can't lose.
If you’re in the mood for German food, you can’t go wrong with this gem in Yorkville. The spatzle and sausage platter are fantastic. The only negative is that it’s a tad pricey.
Sausage platter, sauerbraten, Weinert schnitzel, it's all good. Get the potato pancakes and Camembert cheese as a starter. All better with a liter or two of real German beer.
Naturally, the food is mainly Bavarian meaning giant, plate-flopping schnitzels and sausages presented in omnibus platters with tangy purple cabbage, kartoffeln, and sauerkraut. Read more
Great german food, and of course boots. In the summer great outside seating which is good for groups. Authentic German food, always get the wurst platter
I've never had a bad time here. If it's somebody's birthday, be sure to get the "BIRTHDAY SHOT" which isn't on the menu but is the strongest grain alcohol in all of Germany. Watch their face cringe!!!
Updated vibe maintains its old world charm and is putting out delicious German/Bavarian food and the perfect beers to wash 'em down with! Get the pork shank for dinner, or a currywurst for lunch! =)
Established in1939 where German was a common language. The result? Giant, plate-flopping schnitzels and sausages. Beer garden downstairs. Winner of Best of NYC Critics' choice for Best German!
When we're in the mood for the best German food in the whole city, we head just a few blocks over to the Heidelberg for brats, potato pancakes, pork shank, boots of lager, and to say hi to Dieter!
Obvious thing to get here is a "boot" of German beer - two liters of beer in one boot! (Just know that you'll be putting down $60 per boot for security deposit.)
The 2 Liter Das Boot is awesome! Bring $60 cash for a deposit in case your inebriated self breaks one. Potato pancakes amazing. Get the Camembert cheese app it's ridiculous!
I had the Sauerbraten. The Braten itself and the red cabbage were pretty good (the cabbage was excellent), the (single!!) Knödel that came with was pretty bland though.
Love this bar! Great beer, same bartender every Thursday night, and if you're willing to throw down a cash deposit you can drink Spaten from a giant glass boot. One of the few real musts in the UES.
Great sausage platters but they're made even better with the beer options. Be wary, if you want to drink out of the 2 liter boot, it takes a $60 cash deposit.
Had the vealpaprikaschnitzel. Was not bad overall, Red cabbage and spaetzle were good, but the sauce (while not bad) could have been a lot better. Felt the place was overpriced for what it offered.
