Recently moved from Broadway adjacent to the river, is this massive yet relaxed Cuban style eatery that has upgrades from it's diner past. Cafe con leche. Paella (Cuban style) and an expanded bar.
As any Miami transplant will tell you, it's hard to find good Cuban food in NYC. However, when I'm craving cafe, croquetas, and a media noche, Floridita makes me miss home a little less.
Last time I was here was when I was 12 and the Arroz Con Pollo was 5.50 now it's 11.00 #Signofthetimes..fast forward as I just finished my meal, the Arroz Con Pollo is actually better than I remember
This is one of about 5 establishments called Floridita. The feel here is relaxed and casual, but while the look is diner the menu is all Latin. With all the hype nearby prices here are approachable.
Vegetarian? Always ask if the dish contains meat as you may get a surprise since the menu may not state it outright. I ordered a Tortilla Espanola and it had sausage. Be aware and ask questions.
I've eaten there twice when it was on 12th Ave. Food was good. If I'm not mistaken the location on 12th Ave was relocated to Broadway, between 144/145th Streets.
Floridita Restaurant and Bar has been Harlem's favorite spot for Cuban cuisine for 39 years! Originally located on 125th St. and Broadway, we have recently been relocated to 125th and 12th Ave. as a result of Columbia University's Manhattanville Expansion.
