Make sure you make a reservation! This place is amazing. Drinks so good and food was excellent. Try the ring of fire- it’s a tequila drink with a ginger kick. Pig face, pork shank and goat empanadas!
Sure it's tough to get in, but Stephanie Izard's hamachicrudo with crisp pork belly; pappardelle with goat, pork and veal sugo; and intricate veggie dishes make it worth the wait. [Eater 38 Member] Read more
We had the best experience sitting at the kitchen counter. Only 2 seats at each end so you need to ask when u make you reservations. Great recommendations from both Gary & Hadley. Delicious.
The squash blossoms are stuffed with crab and are fried perfectly to a golden brown. The pork belly melts in your mouth, and the hamfrites are delicious. The misobutterscotch pudino is a must!
Stephanie Izard is phenomenal - this is probably some of the most delicious food I've ever had in my life. Get the pig face, scallops, goatlivermousse and goatcheesecake. You won't be disappointed!
Honestly, I’d put this up there as one of the best meals of my life! The scallops with wild mushrooms just melt in your mouth, the Arctic char was cooked perfectly, and the service = above & beyond!
Pig face, Sugo, and Pork Belly. One can't go wrong with any of the three. The KohlrabiSalad is amazing, Octo is awesome, and the Goat loin is delicious. Shishito peppers is just a meh.
This NYC chick has to admit that this was one of the best meals of my life! The roasted pig's face was to die for. Must be open to being adventurous with food when coming here!
Here's a break down of what we got: raw oysters were awesome, goatcarpaccio & scallops were too salty for me, pork shank was awesome!!!!!! Dessert was miso something interesting but good!!!
Definitely earns its reputation as some of the best food in Chicago! We loved everything but will call out the pork shank, goat belly, and frog legs in particular. You really can't go wrong.
I love decadent food as much as the next but for all the hype, I was expecting something magical. To be sure, the food was delectable and the experience was excellent. Get the chickpeafritters!
Fantastic vibes and delicious small plates—get a few to share! The meats (like the Chicken and Seafood) are amazing, but don't skimp on the veggies. The Roasted Cauliflower was spectacular.
Literally everything was delicious- a list of things are cauliflower, green beans, goat belly, goat empanadas, halibut, salmon, duck tongue and beef tongue, and top it off with rhubarb shortcake!
Reservations are hard, catch a spot at the bar. The snail dumplings and goatlivermousse awesome! Would like more goat on menu! Sweetbreads? roasted Goat face ? Soup dumplings from hoove extract ?
Worth every penny. If you can't get a seat, you can sit with others in the lounge and still access the full menu. The goat dishes are fabulous... But so is everything else.
There’s just no substitute for fresh-baked bread. Girl & the Goat, known for its exceptional baking, makes gluten-free loaves that are as good as the real thing—seriously. Read more
Crazy awesome fabulous! One of the best meals I've ever had any where in the world (I'm well travel, fine dined, and a former chef). Don't be scared try the pig face!
Steph Izard is incredible, my friend and I have eaten her winning dishes at "Quickfires". We were blown away we tried shishito peppers, steamed mussels, beef ribs, pearwonton- and more. Amazing!!!
This place serves a varying array of dishes that are sure to please. When you have great food, wonderful decor and a good looking crowd, you're in for a treat...
Very fun atmosphere. The entire service experience was excellent from the bartenders to the servers at our table. Menu is great for sharing. There's likely something everyone will like.
Sat at chef table - our server took amazing care of us! Top: bucatini, hamachicrudo, pb and j desert. Didn't love the squash blossom dish. Definitely worth a visit!
If you can get here on the early side (open daily at 4:30) you can get a table sans reservation--we got a great window table arriving at 4:50 on a Friday evening. Also, don't miss the green beans!
Stephanie Izard and her team are amazing, its great for dates. Lively environment and close seating will have you chatting with your neighbor about their dishes in no time. Stop in today!
best dishes were goat belly, lamb skewers, salmonpoke def!!, and seared scallops (try duck tongues if u never have it’s good but the dish overall isn’t amazing)
Going with a group of 6 or more is the way to go! We had 8 people, tasted nearly every menu item, had cocktails/beer and only spent $50 each including tip. Delicious and so worth it!
Perfect balances of flavors & textures. How does she think of this stuff? Highly creative. Bread selection, salads, duck tongues, cauliflower, desserts. Great knowledgable staff. 🐐👍🏼
Good Jesus, order the goat leg. It's enough food for 8 people (with a few veg added in) but an amazingly prep'ed piece of meat. Smoked, braised, then crisped in the pizza oven. 👍👍

This place was totally worth the wait! We ordered the string beans, pork shank, the crudo, Thai chilibread, and oysters. Everything was so delicious, and the service is awesome.
Worth the 2 month wait and lived up to every bit of the hype!!! This was a culinary experience I will never forget! Duck tongue, roasted pig face, and goatlivermousse were outstanding.
I have a food allergy and I have never been treated so well. They took amazing care of me and the food was some of the best I have tasted. So impressed. Don't miss the pig face. Thank you G&tG!
Pig face + sautéed green beans = match made in heaven. And save room for dessert! Peaches n buttermilk cream honey-graham cake with almonds hit the spot.
