Incredible service. We came for a special occasion and were treated so well - got a seat at a large velvet booth downstairs in the speakeasy. Photobooth is 3 bucks, leave an email for digital copy.
Quite a gem. The shrimp & grits transformed my generally negative impression of grits. The Pork Belly was fall off the bone to die for and the truffle pasta complimented everything else very nicely.
The truffle pasta is awesome. Their pastas in general are really good. The cocktails we had were also very good. Great interior and the service was friendly and attentive. Two thumbs up!
I loved the cocktails! The restaurant is dark which I love. There is an even darker eating area/bar hidden downstairs that is very dark and cozy. I'll definitely be down there next time I go!
Loved the foie gras. Truffle pasta is unique. I liked it but I think it's better for a few people to share/taste rather than finish a plate by oneself.
The roasted chicken, seasoned with oregano and roasted garlic, is as simple and classic as dishes get. But the chicken is juicy perfection, a reminder of how soul-satisfying roast chicken can be.
The steak tartare is to die for! Pork meatballs and pork belly are also delicious. House red wine for $4 can't be beat. Also try the Bee's Knees - awesome cocktail!
Pork belly can be found all over town, but I recommend sampling Gilt Bar's superior version, consisting of meaty slices under a raspberry-shallot glaze, over farro verde and wax beans.
Try the ham and cheese fondue from our 100 Best list:Take a croque-madame, increase the cheese tenfold, melt it in a crock, fold in ham, put the egg on top and use the bread on the side, for dipping.
They make great drinks here. I had a Negroni before dinner and the Whiskey Sour after. Also, if it's still on the menu get the confitbacon entree. Bacon for dinner!
The smashed red potatoes with chicken jus are among the best spuds in town—and save room for the desserts, which are downplayed as dinerworthy but are masterpieces in disguise. Read more
This place is amazing. Key things to order: Bone Marrow, Orechiette, Shrimp & Grits. Also the Old Fashioneds are to die for. Well, they are pretty good.
Loud, but nice ambience, great Old Fashioned(s) and very good food. Downstairs is cash-only but it's a great hangout space if you don't mind talking loudly over the music and/or the band. Read more

Five women shared two "toast" items (beef tartar and boratti with heirloom tomatoes), two pastas, mussels, french fries and the steak followed by warm brownie with ice cream and blackberries. Delish.
Gilt's beer list anchors the drinks menu with a dozen on tap and about 30 in the bottle, ranging from local brews to Belgian specialty pours. Wines by the glass pull from an eclecticwine list, but th Read more
The Gunthorp Farmchicken is wonderful, succulent. The ribeye was tasty but far too fatty. The slow braised kale and marinated red cabbage just about perfect. My opinion? The honkytonk music must go!
Great meal. Best of my Chicago trip. Get the pot roast, pork belly or any of the homemade pastas and you'll be very happy you did. Also, great craft cocktails.
