- Brooke AgeeOctober 10, 2014Friendly staff, fantastic customer service! I got up graded to a suite no charge, simply because the room I had reserved wasn't ready when I came! They had fantastic dinner recommendations as well
- Beautiful historic hotel. The bathrooms might be small, but with a city like Charleston, you shouldn't be staying in your room. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Will be back!
- Amanda HeavnerJuly 20, 2013Jeff at concierge was a fantastic help! We're very happy with the room and location. We were upgraded upon arriving early. :) wifi is not a powerful enough signal to reach our top floor room.
- Daniel KivariAugust 27, 2013Planning your day? Jeff the concierge is the knowledgeable and personable go to. The Internet is good too, but there is no signal on the higher floors!
- Craig FisherMay 8, 2014Run or walk down Rutledge to the Harbor. Beautiful! BTW, I'm hiring a social media maven http://fishervista.com/about/jobs/ #collab14
- Denise GJune 18, 2020Our new favorite hotel in Charleston! Fitness center was well-equipped. Room was clean and well-our together. Two bathrooms!!
- Hunter BoyleJanuary 1, 2013Rooms on higher floor on Calhoun St side may not have view of the square, but are very quiet. Give yourself 5-7 mins for the elevators. Great staff.
- Andy ZimmJuly 15, 2011Luxurious hotel that offers comfortable rooms with beautiful views. I didn't have any noise that others may have experienced. Must eat at the Swamp Fox restaurant!
- Randi Davis MinorJanuary 2, 2013Great place to stay! The Swamp Fox has complimentary appetizers between 5-7pm. Staff is so friendly and accommodating!
- Mykl WuFebruary 6, 2014Lucy at the front desk is super awesome! So is the young general manager who's name it didn't manage to get.
- AT&TSeptember 13, 2011Another great reason to stay here: AT&T Wi-Fi is one of the many amenities here for guests. It’s fast and easy to connect.
- Church bells ringing, housekeeping repeatedly knocking on the door, ancient elevator, and the old man at the concierge table couldn't even make a decent dinner recommendation!
- The valets are GREAT here - ask them to call you a pedicab for a fun ride around the city or to dinner. Also ask the concierge staff for suggestions for dinner, tours, etc - they really know the city!
- Jane WilliamsDecember 27, 2013Great hotel, booked thru Hotel Tonight App... AND.... Got upgraded when we checked in :)
- Hotel TonightOctober 31, 2011Right across from Marion Square and at the north end of King Street's shopping, dining and art corridor.
- The Bagel ShopAugust 11, 2011Wonderful hotel that like us, is locally owned and operated. Another bonus, we're just a block away down King on George Street.
- Manny's Mediterranean Grille www.mannysgrills.comApril 24, 2014Free Delivery go to www.mannysgrills.com
- Jared RanereNovember 13, 2012A decent bargain in a good location but if you're looking for something special this is not your place.
- Kyle BrownJuly 17, 2012Booked the room, got there and we were upgraded to this! 1 a/c unit didn't work, while the other one spent hours leaking! Solution, give us towels to put down! room now smells like cat piss!
- Justin BevensOctober 29, 2013Don't expect many frills in the room, this is an old hotel, really nice staff. Expensive for the amount of square footage the room actually is. My home closet might be bigger.
- here for a convention, it started at 12 but they didn't have our room ready yet! Drove all morning and then had to go to the beginning of the convention feeling nasty! they should have had them ready.
- If you need a good night's rest make sure to ask for a quiet room on a high floor - Calhoun St And King in a historic hotel is noisier than NYC!
- Michele VernonOctober 10, 2011The people in the next room are so loud! Guest services is very polite though
- Nice old fashioned hotel and a great location but the WiFi sucks big time
- Craig BeckMarch 3, 2011It's early, or late, and summer, or spring, or.... this ends badly either way
- JamesMarch 15, 2014Definitely not a high-end hotel. Stay at the Doubletree instead. You will get your money's worth there.
- Roger SchonfeldAugust 26, 2014Hotel needs a thorough renovation. Rooms before renovation were unpleasant. The conference areas are uncomfortable.
- Carla TynerJune 12, 2011Way over priced hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are small, bathroom is even smaller. Elevators take forever.
- Dorothea McCollumOctober 27, 2012Slow elevators, small room and minuscule bathroom. Noisy room - road noise & ice maker. Staff is friendly, but not a good place to be with kids.
