TripStoryApril 24, 2012Melbourne is a great town! With many neighborhoods to visit- Fitzroy, St. Kilda, Melbourne CBD, Chinatown... Go for a long walk. Take a tram ride. Checkout an art museum. Admire the architecture.
I have done numerous rock band photo shoot performing at Fed Sq. My greatest moment was the Painters & Dockers singing "The Boy Who Lost His Jocks On Flinders St Station" with the station in the back!

Keep your eyes open in the Square - there's always some kind of amazing public art! At the moment (August-September 2012), don't miss the iceberg stereograms scattered around the place.
There's free WiFi, though I don't use it. There's a massive screen that varies what's on it. There's also a few restaurants and very close to trams and other places.

Frequently hold free art and music events here. Personal favourites include the beer and wine shows and ACMI for movies. The website has a detailed calendar for you to keep an eye on.

Going to the ACMI events is always a great choice on the weekends. Parking on the next building at flinders st is the cheapest one.
