Arielle L. • October 9, 2018Lake Phalen is truly a gathering place. It's beautiful to walk but it also has lots of activities like an amphitheater, beach volleyball, playgrounds, sports fields and ice rinks.
Michael Q. • April 4, 2013Phalen is one stop place for activities. You really can't stop finding things to do.
Richard • July 30, 2017A great urban lake with a 1.6 mile walking path - keep your eyes open for wildlife while walking around the lake. After your walk stop by the pavilion for a burger, hot dog, ice cream or beer!
Rich • June 27, 2012I love this lake! I run or walk around it every other day! I agree there is something lurking in the lake. I wish I could catch it on camera. I have seen it myself.
Lynden A. • July 10, 2012Great lake to walk your dog around because there's always little to no people walking around so your dog won't get distracted
Bob L. • April 5, 2011It's a great place to walk your dog in the spring and fall, but it's pretty busy during the summer.
Nate F. • July 27, 2015nice spot to stop on a sunset bike ride
Dan E. • March 20, 2010The distance around the lake is almost exactly 1 mile which makes it great for running/walking
Melanie • May 15, 2015The water doesn't always look that great but the picnicking area & walking bridges are awesome!
Arielle L. • July 6, 2018Beautiful grounds with a conservatory, zoo, lake, golf course and amusement park for kids!
Steve S. • July 12, 2020A gem of Dakota County. Water fowl and birds are always commonplace. Gorgeous lake and shoreline maintained by the county. Hiking trails a fishing pier and the Dakota Lodge is a great event center.
Stephanie C. • December 21, 2015Trails are nice. Kids like the playground. Parking lot closed in winter. Great for walking to, but port-o-potty needs attention most of the time.
Sweasil M. • February 5, 2013Ice fishing is great. People are nice and it is quiet for a city lake. Summers are even better.
Kelly F. • July 29, 2013Waters are infested with Eurasian Milfoil. Make sure to completely inspect your boat and trailer to prevent it from spreading to other lakes.
Heavy Table • November 6, 2014Try the Wheatstone Bridge American Style Wheat (6.3% ABV) -- it’s so palatable and pleasant, flavorful without being overwhelmingly fruity, you could drink 12 on a summer boating trip on the lake.
