James M. • March 27, 2016Amazing collection of buildings from all over Norway. Great for young families. Some animals to look at, and rides in a horse and cart.
Guido G. • January 31, 2015Great museum, short train trip from the central station. Varied and interesting collection and many abilities to interact with the displays. Lots to see!
Marius W. • May 20, 2014Grim, dark and unique: The mausoleum of the less famous Vigeland is fairly obscure even to Oslo people. Features a grand 4-wall fresco, amazing acoustics and the artist's own remains.
Maximilian S. • September 9, 2017Very interesting story well told in this museum. Great experience, highly recommended! (unlike the Fram museum next door which isn't nearly as great)
Jason M. • April 16, 2017Amazing collection of casts and replicas of Vigeland's work. Great explanations of the sculptures outside in the Vigeland Sculpture Park!
Manja K. • August 18, 2014Great location, near harbour and Aker Brygge, both also very nice places to visit in Oslo. Has always a exhibit about a current topic and the normal exhibit of all prize winners, which is really nice
Débora F. • September 29, 2015Best Museum in the island! Amazing viking ship and history! The museum has 3 ships. It's a small but awesome museum.
Francesco Paolo F. • July 26, 2024This museum was a nice surprise! It is quite rich in content a definitely deserves a visit
Patrick S. • September 3, 2018A historic site with an old castle. Nice view of Frognerkilen. There is a café open during summer season. Worth a visit!
Monica D. • July 30, 2015Interesting and comprehensive, worth a visit if you're even a light history buff.
Donovan C. • July 9, 2014Very good exhibition but all of it is in Norwegian. The audio only translates a little bit of the exhibition for you. Definitely see the bunker. This is definitely worth the price.
Gaute B. • July 7, 2011Really nice park with a large variety of plants and trees. Nice for a picnic or just walking around. Jogging is also popular here. Closed at night.
Lisa S. • March 9, 2018Great selection and obviously the 😱 by Munch is a highlight but it has much more - Monet, Picasso etc. Keep out for the room numbers if you want the experience in chronological order.
Leonardo A. • June 16, 2015I think it depends on what is being displayed. All the exhibitions are temporary. On Sunday, the entrance is free.
Thomas Røst S. • August 19, 2013Brilliant with kids! A classic museum with an incredible skill balance between the exhibitions of yesteryear and the rewrapping the contents of the collections in new and interesting ways.
R • July 17, 2018lots of ship models, few video expositions, few ship rooms of different periods, and much more stuff. Also a nice cafe inside. Get an Oslo card to visit all museums nearby at once
Anya R. • March 19, 2019A very interesting museum consists of three floors with different exhibitions. Wooden sculptures and altars from early Christian times in Norway are especially interesting to have a look at.
Berg M. • April 3, 2016Nice cafe with atmosphere and smorgasbord. Maybe the nicest Castel in Oslo with a park restored back to original glory.
Ida Martine • August 1, 2013The guided tours are very interresting! Lovely place to spend time outdoors during summer. :)
