UWVIP • November 21, 2011When relocating Abe's statue, workers discovered the remains of 2 men killed by lightning while building the 1st capitol in 1838. Their graves are now marked by metal plaques in the cement.
NASA • January 11, 2011OAO launched in 1968 on an Atlas-Centaur rocket & was in operation until 1973. Partially built here at UW, it was the 1st observatory in space & remains in orbit. The full flight backup is on display.
