CultureMap Houston • August 7, 2011The Julia Ideson Library boasts among its collections a 1615 edition of Don Quixote, a 15th-century illuminated Book of Hours from Flanders and more than 300 rare maps of Houston dating from 1561.
Ricky A. • September 12, 2015Good small library. A few large desks available to spread out if needed. Wear headphones to block out the noise of misbehaving small children
Seth C. • December 16, 2011Impressive facility! Friendly, helpful staff. Private study rooms with computers. Great library!
nichole m. • August 31, 2024Its quiet study spaces, knowledgeable staff, and access to specialized information make it an invaluable resource for students and professionals in the medical field.
Daniel L. • July 10, 2012Free wifi and plenty of desk spaces to work at in the beautiful reading room upstairs if you need a break from the outside world.
Sonu M. • August 12, 2010Story time 11am Tues for tots is super crowded, but a fun lunch break

Ceasar J. • October 2, 2011Great family church, I go here with my family. I'm just upset there is no more 11:00am service
susie g. • December 23, 2010I like their late hours and the great prices on used books.
Crystal S. • June 23, 2012The library hours stay the same throughout the year. Monday/Wednesday 12-8, Tuesday/Thursday 10-6, Friday 1-5, and Saturday 10-5. The community center changes their hours for their summer programs.
Tamica Nicole • May 10, 2014There was a time when the library was a quiet place. Too many screaming kids running all over the place. The parents are just as loud. If you want quiet, don't come here!
Timothy M. • September 8, 2012Good first impression. Small but well stocked. And Ten Napel's new graphic novel was the first thing I saw
Rachel M. • January 5, 2011Any nook owners get free access to the entire b&n online book library when connected to the wifi!
👑Carly R. • August 28, 2014Head to the back of the brown wing and take the elevators up to the 6th floor or higher to find more secluded and quieter spots to study or just relax! Best hidden gem!
Anissa G. • August 17, 2011Love this library. Its quaint...yet functional. They do cool workshops for kids...and there's even a front area with tables for you to work and eat and make phone calls!
Yongyi H. • August 31, 2017Very quiet! Idealist place to study. I appreciate that there are at least two power plugs for each table - super convenient!
Rachel V. • July 20, 2011Best department in the library, in my humble opinion.
Elvia F. • February 10, 2015Such a large, expansive and wonderfully well-kept library with free wifi - excellent study area! I highly recommend this library!
Stefanie • September 13, 2012Since when was it okay to talk loudly in a library? If you're looking for somewhere quiet to studying, this is not the place.
Zach L. • September 13, 2010Oh man. I remember back before 24/7 access. In case you don't know, you can always use your ID to get in from the basement--even if the library's technically closed. I would've liked that as a 1L.
Jenna R. • March 31, 2015This neighborhood library is pretty small but it's MY neighborhood library so I love it!
