Do a Lap around Koutze Lake in the late afternoon for excellent views, and wildlife viewing!
An outdoor recreation paradise nestled near the foothills a short drive southwest, the park’s centerpiece is the enormous Chatfield Reservoir, where water-skiers, boaters and anglers can be found.
With a network of trails to suit every level of hiker, get up-close with the Flatirons (the slanting slabs of sandstone that are Boulder’s most recognizable landmark) framed by a beautiful meadow.
Enjoy one of the park’s easier hike. For a little more challenge, try the 2.8-mile Mills Lake trek with 14,259-foot-tall Longs Peak views.
Red-stone cliffs flank the 6.5-mile lake, a favorite spot for hikers, bikers and rock-climbers. Or for an adventure, hop in a raft and ride the Class III and IV rapids down the Cache la Poudre.
