Matthew: Tokyo is such a bike friendly city and the people at this company are amazing!
Omer: Incredible tori paitan (chicken) ramen with seasonal vegetables. Also a cool sardine tsukemen.
Omer: Awesome standing-only authentic udon place filled with locals. Make sure to get some tempura along with your udon.
Omer: Michelin star soba for like $15. We showed up without a reservation when they opened and waited only ~30 minutes.
Omer: Cheap-ish sushi right at the Osaka fish market. Walk around the market a bit too; they're not as strict as Tsukiji about kicking people out.
Omer: Amazing cheap sushi place in the middle of a mall. Lots of local families. Reminded me of waiting on a weekend morning at a popular South Bay or LA dim sum place.
Omer: Their gourmet pastry/sweets area is by far the fanciest I've seen in the world.
Joseph: You can make your own special cup of Cup Noodles here! Also, they have vending machines for many different types of cup noodles they have across Japan (some are exclusive to specific areas). And if you go on their website beforehand, I think you can book a noodle cooking class or something XD
Joseph: Need to book early for this place, but definitely one of the most interesting places I've ever eaten at. It's a small counter of up to 8 people, but the chef does all sorts of experimental stuff with the food - and you get to banter with the chef too!
Joseph: This is a given if you're a fan of the Ghibli films. They also have a small theatre there where you can watch one of their unreleased short films that they have on rotation!
Joseph: There's Pokemon Centers throughout Japan, but the main one is in Tokyo (in a shopping centre called Sunshine City, in Ikebukuro). Every month, they release a limited edition Pikachu plushie, so look out for that! (this is pretty much just a store, so keep that in mind if you're expecting more)
Joseph: They have deer roaming around freely here. Make friends with them. Or don't. Your call. :P
