A classic LA venue. Leave your gum behind, be nice to the security guards, and don't forget to look up at the ceiling in between bands. Almost every view's a good one here.
Charming theater with some fairlystrong drinks. Price was fair! I like how the sides of the room are slightly raised for us shorter people. 😂 Saw Mike Stud perform here and loved it!
It has had its fair share of top-tier and soon-to-be-huge artists at its stage, from Bob Dylan and the Pixies to Lana Del Rey. The ornate decorations and VIP lounge add a touch of class to its shows. Read more
Smallish venue. If you don't want to get super close to the stage, post up behind the barrier around the room for a pretty unobstructed view of the stage.

I love the vibe of this theatre! This has to be my favorite music venue in LA — the sound is always clear and I never have a problem getting close to the stage to checkout the band that is performing.
El Rey is one of LA’s best mid-size venues. Jollett of the Airborne Toxic Event says he’s never seen a bad show here. More importantly, “it’s one of the few places in LA that actually has class.”
Mid-sized concert venue that has the best of the new music coming through. Get tickets when you can. Don’t worry who is playing, it will be great. -Mark Peel, Top Chef
like putting lipstick on a pig. it still looks like a tacky banquet hall! that step around the dance floor is an absolute hazard. not bad for sit-down comedy, though.
During our June 2013 feature interview with EDM act Disclosure, member Howard Lawrence, noted that their Halloween show at El Rey Theatre was one of their favorite shows of 2012!

These guys hve never been beat in their attention to accessible needs. I've never had a negative experience and never a bad word! Keep up the awesome job and thanks for making our night special!
First, this venue is beautiful. Get there early enough and street parking is easy to find. There's also a pay lot that isn't very expensive. It isn't difficult to find a great view here
Avoid paying those dreaded Ticketmaster fees! If it's not an instant sell-out show, buy your tickets at Origami Vinyl ($2 per ticket fee, cash only) or direct from the El Rey website ($5/ticket.)
Saw Landon Pigg and Little Boots at this venue and I have to say, LOVE! Very old Hollywood inside, chic, small with a very VIP feel ;) I DEF recommend! Read more
