- Markus AlvermannMarch 7, 2017Great sandwiches. Try one of the favorites. I had the one with pastrami, corned beef, swiss cheese and cole slaw. Simply delicious. Great service. The breakfast sandwiches were good, too.
- Wow there is just something great about going to a place from the 1920s that hasn't been touched, sit up at a counter and have one of the best pastrami Rubens ever with a lime Ricky to wash it down.
- Michael 🍷 ElmgreenJanuary 21, 2017Fantastic comforting matzah ball soup with delicious broth, big chunks of chicken, carrot and celery. Pair with a pastrami reuben and a classic NYC egg cream or rickey.
- Mike FriedmanFebruary 5, 2017If you ever doubt the greatness of this city, or your place in it: sit at the counter of Eisenberg's and devour a Reuben. All better.
- Jack OsborneOctober 2, 2018This place is like walking in to some sort of time warp. Sit at the bar, order an egg creme and imagine doing the exact same thing in this establishment nearly eighty years ago.
- Alex RainertMarch 24, 2016Here's a picture of an almost finished Reuben. Couldn't help myself because it (and everything else) is that good.
- Duncan PJSeptember 6, 2014Bagel and lox was fantastic. Not sure about egg cream. A bit like a carbonated milk shake. Definitely better than the carbonated milk shake I made in my parents soda stream when I was a kid 😉
- DorouliniMay 19, 2018We tried the original pastrami reuben sandwich and it was fantastic! I really liked the old decoration.
- Come by yourself. Sit at the counter. Your very own time machine.
- Andy ChapmanNovember 7, 2017A classic, down and dirty at the counter is the way to go. You will leave smelling like Eisenberg’s
- One of my fav classic NY delis. Post up at the counter and get some great made-to-order sandwiches and burgers.
- Mish and RobMay 16, 2015The pastrami reuben is far cheaper and waaay better than some of the more famous sandwich shops around - and the chopped liver w/turkey is crazy good too. Lovely, old-school diner atmosphere.
- Anna BrownMarch 27, 2015The roast beef sandwich was really good..not too big and the roast beef was nice and rare. I would def get the fries next time! The size of the sandwich was very manageable. Highly recommend.
- Stephanie MSeptember 18, 2015A popular spot for lunch but single diners or pairs should generally be able to get seated without a wait. More importantly though...the food was awesome...everything good NYC diner food should be!
- Kai PayneSeptember 3, 2015Since it was my first time here, I ordered conservatively and got a cheeseburger (with bacon) and fries. Although the wait was long because I decided to go at 12pm on a weekday, the food was fantastic
- Ms HeleneMarch 12, 2013$10 for their pastrami sandwich served hot on rye with a pickle, help yourself mustard. Thinly-sliced, fattier and drier than Katz's but also cheaper, can sit at bar and can finish it!
- Nice staff and mind blowing Reuben! Take out is quick but the narrow space makes it hard to wait
- AmateurConciergeJuly 11, 2015Classic Jewish deli offerings in a classic diner setting. Lime Rickey is a must. I got the Jake which was decent but next time I'll go for the standard pastrami reuben.
- Easy to love. Better than a diner experience. Something more to it than that. Breakfast is better than lunch. Service leaves a lot to be desired. But still worth it for basic and inexpensive classics.
- Sevgi SairogluMarch 8, 2015If you are craving for a good sandwich, yes Eisenberg's is good choice! Their menu is very rich! hard to decide - Reuben Turkey delicious 👌
- Melissa WilfleyNovember 20, 2013If you're a veggie - breakfast til 11 or limited lunch items like veggie burger, egg salad over greens and veggie soup on tue, thu, fri. Still awesome but no salad greens section
- The staff here is super nice. If you're getting takeout, ordering over the phone or on Seamless is the best option, especially during lunchtime. Otherwise, you'll be waiting in a really crowded area!
- Joanna FlammOctober 25, 2015Such a classic New York restaurant! Go with a friend, order two bowls of matzo ball soup and one pastrami on rye to share.
- David BanAugust 10, 2014No nonsense classic Jewish deli - Pastrami Sandwiches, Tuna Melts, Egg Creams & Lime Rickeys. And pickles, of course.
- Classic New York experience. Delicious, delightful, and nostalgic. Leaves you feeling full of glee and grease. Get a patty melt and an egg cream.
- Jen KMarch 12, 2015very good Reuben turkey is outstanding super great service they are so busy but so fast!!
- Varun ShettyAugust 12, 2014You know how you can buy bottles of Cristal at a club? I'd rather buy bottles of Eisenberg's Lime Rickey. A true symbol of status and wealth.
- BauzenAugust 29, 2011This is one of the last real deli's left in Midtown. Tuna Melts, Reuben's - you name it, all served perfectly toasted with a pickle on the side, the way it should be.
- NYC: The Official GuideDecember 16, 2011The Reuben! Buttery toast squashes down thinly sliced, plentiful corned beef, dolled up with sauerkraut and a sweet touch of Russian dressing. With each bite, the melted Swiss pulls like taffy. Read more
- Daniel BarnettOctober 21, 2014One of those very classic NYC delis that don't exist anymore. BUT THIS ONE DOES. Egg creams, all sandwiches are great. Expect 10-15 mins for takeout, nowhere as bad as it seems if you're not starving.
- Vic McGinOctober 9, 2017Step back in time and chow down a sandwich. One to share with a side of latka is a perfect amount of food.
- Grab a sandwich or an egg and cheese to go, and sit and check out all the photos of celeb customers along the wall. Spike Lee! Bono! Goldblum! Everybody loves a little old-school cholesterol.
- Mike JohnsonApril 25, 2017Best deli in NYC. Get yourself a split pea soup and a turkey rueben and remember what a gift life truly is.
- Saarim ZamanFebruary 25, 2018The food here is excellent and the price is way better than other delis.
- Gunnar AasenMarch 14, 2015A classic New York joint. Eat pastrami solo at the bar. Order quickly and pay at the door when you're finished.
- Sean SmithDecember 17, 2015My go to for big deli sandwiches in the area. Reuben and chicken BLT are both super tasty.
- M. Silver AssociatesFebruary 2, 2012Egg Cream! Contains no eggs-just milk, seltzer, chocolate sauce. If you want a real one, sit yourself down at the counter and order up. This shop's been serving up New York classics since 1929.
- This is one of my most favorite places in the city...lucky for me I do a lot of work in the FlatIron dist. I eat lunch here whenever I can and I'm never disappointed...the owner Josh is a great guy..
- eileenNovember 23, 2014Sit at the bar and order and watch them cook! Great spot, love the hashbrowns. Get them before they run out!
- The Corcoran GroupJanuary 7, 2011Sit at the counter and enjoy the best Philly Cheese Steak outside of Philly! Also good are the hot pastrami sandwich and the egg cream.
- Village VoiceAugust 4, 2014The egg salad is creamy and clean-tasting, and only slightly salty. Order it on rye, and strike a blow for heirloom eating. Read more
