Go during october and its off season. Tickets are almost half price. Bring a picnic drive across the bridge and go up and sit under the crazy people slingshoting themselves above Gorge.
We thought it was going to be cheesy, we did everything (cave tour, zip line, and the 7D game) and it was awesome for adults and kids! ! It should be a MUST STOP!
Cool mist from the falls is wonderful on a hot day. Make sure you go the extra walk to see the continuous geyser a little further on.
If entering via 550, be aware that the majority of the 16 miles road to the visitor center is unpaved and covered in small ruts, which makes for a VERY bumpy ride. Watch out for free-range livestock.

Fort Fremont was originally built to defend the U.S. Naval Station- Beaufort during the Spanish-American War. Today, little remains at Fort Fremont, but it's a neat place to walk around.
