Chocolate cookie shots and cronuts are signatures here. Their raspberry and limetart is also very delicious. Frozen smores are great for the sweet tooth too.
Cooke milk shot: awesome awesome cookie and vanilla infused milk. When you order it, ask for the milk to go and pour it yourself. Gives you way more milk
Don't want to wait in line? Order cronuts in advance! You can either roll the dice by calling the bakery at 11am for 2 weeks in advance, or order in bulk (minimum of 50) a month in advance!
The cronuts are as mindblowing as the hype suggests. Worth the line? Once, yes. Their other pastries (DKA, newly unveiled souffle) are delightful. Dominique and the staff are friendly also.
I tasted the August cronut : black cherry and valrhona milk chocolate, it was delicious ! It was my first cronut and I was not dissapointed ! I recommend it :)
By far, the DKA is better than the Cronut! It's actually the best DKA I've ever eaten in the US! Skip the Cronutline, by getting a Cronut Pass, or coming here outside of work days.
Totally recommend the cronut if you have time to wait in line, if not the DKA is just as delicious! Frozen s'more is good too! Get coffee if Anthony is working, he makes drinks like nobody's business
They're pastry lineup is outstanding. The apple tart is divine, as are the cookies. Get a cronut if you must, but order a couple other confections as well
1) Blanc de Blanc--Tahitian Vanilla between 2 soft, milkyricottacookies w/ salted honey inside 2) Sugar-crusted kouign amann (super buttery croissant) w/ ice cream in the middle. $6, off the menu
Amazing pastries, esp the DKA w carmelized goodness + almond croissant. Mini egg sandwich is also delish! Cute indoor/outdoor patios - def making this my new spot for coffee + wkend breakfast hangs!
Skip out on the suburban touristycronut and definitely get the "DKA" (“Dominique’s Kouign Amann”). It's like a delicious croissant with a nice soft sweet filling in the middle.
Will not comment on the Cronut & the chocolate chip cookie shot. I'm just here to say that I went on a Sunday and they had Cronuts till about 1pm, & the cookie shotline started around 2:45pm.
Didn't make it for the cronuts or the cookie shot, but the frozen s'mores was gooey and the ice cream inside was delish. Also tried the flourless cookie which was chewy.
Skip out on the touristycronut. Get the DKA (“Dominique’s Kouign Amann”) which is like a croissant but with a delicious sweet filling. The other desserts aren't bad as well. And it's always packed.
It's small but mighty. Frozen vanilla ice cream with chocolatewafers is surrounded by marshmallow and torched Baked Alaska style for $7. Cronuts sell out early. NutellaMilkBread.
Lots of unique dessert ideas apart from the famed Cronut. Try the Frozen S'more on a stick or Cookie Cup with Milk, or anything else that your eye fancies.
The DKA (Dominique Kouign Amman) is flakey, buttery & the top it's crunchy sweet with caramelized sugar. Sooo good & worth the $5.25 price tag. Nice heated outdoor area too.
Ansel's entire menu has great options, but recently known for their cronut which is amazing! There are sometimes lines, so be prepared for a little wait.
Invented the Cronut in 2013, a pastry that resembles a doughnut and is made from croissant-like dough which is filled with flavored cream and fried in grapeseed oil.
Dominique Ansel left Daniel Boloud’s restaurant Daniel to start his own bakery in Soho, and has since gained a following for his decadent mini-meringues and freshly baked to order madeleines.
Roasted butternut squash soup with cinnamonmarshmallows... wow! and... their famous DKA, which is a lightly caramel coated croissant like pastry which may be one of the best things i've ever tasted.
HuffoPo says if getting a cronut, "May we at least suggest you also purchase a DKA? It is the chef's take on a kouign-amann, a French pastry with layers of butter and sugar. It's fabulous." Read more
"good at pretty much everything–that includes sorbets, which are dense and creamy and come in flavors like green apple and raspberry. Our tip? Top your scoop with baby meringues for a dollar extra."
