Be sure to lie on the bed of nails - you may never have another chance! Also, there are lots of building blocks in the front and a section where you can make cool stuff with duck tape and scraps.
Saw the amazing film, "Hubble 3D" yesterday. Sat in the middle seats, just 3 rows down from the top row. WOW!! It was an incredible experience. We went THROUGH Outer Space, while in our seats.
A museum that offers a variety of exhibits & explorations for kids of all ages! While you're there, don't miss the incredible "Bodies Exhibit" and make sure you enjoy an IMAX film before heading home!
If you're just visiting, save some extra $bucks for their AWESOME Gift Shop. Take home a souvenir geode, Dino, turtle, or a cool post card for remembrance of your Discovery Day! *love* this place!
Great hands on learning museum. Kids love it from tiny things but interactive exhibits best for ages 5 and up. If in Charlotte get the membership and save!
I like Discovery Place. It's fun and has a variety of interesting things to see. However, the cost is high for a family. Then you have to pay additional $ for parking. Too expensive!
The parkinggarageelevator is located on the first floor, if you're on the 2nd floor you must go back downstairs to get to it. (while the mummies exhibit is up)
This place takes hands-on exploring to an extreme. Rainforests, science experiments, wind tunnels & the largest movie screen in the Carolinas will keep kids of all ages entertained for hours.

Terrible place to navigate with a stroller. Doors aren't automatic and elevator is small. No changing stations in the bathrooms on the second floor!?!?!? Otherwise, this is a great place for kids.
