Dinner is normally five-courses or more on the Captain's Menu, but those who ask politely and discretely should be able to order a few a la carte pastas around this time instead of going prix fixe. Read more
The minestrone at Del Posto is poured over basil tortellini for a great tasting vegetarian meal. Or try the Luna piena, a giant raviolo, filled with Castelmagno cheese and shaved black truffles. Read more
The service is second to none, especially at Richard's tables. Seafood lovers, go with the octopus, then dungess crab, poached lobster, and grilled semolina cake. Or anything - it's all amaze
Years later it’s still a beautiful space with impeccable service and fantastic Italian food. Ribeye is amazing. Only complaint: even the 5 course is too much food. Skip the ricotta pasta supplement.
A perfect Neapolitan seafood salad, an unfried and unmemorable artichoke appetizer, a stunning dish of hand-rolled pici pasta with black truffles, and lamb done three ways (chop, roulade, meatballs). Read more
The ultimate place to celebrate a special occasion. Do the 5 course prix fixe and order: Truffled Beef Crudo, Pork & Veal Agnolotti, Lasanga, the Duck or Lamb, and the Tortino to finish off.
Upscale dining at it's finest! The service is impeccable and you will leave stuffed if you try the 5 course tasting menu. The lobster Caesar salad, spaghetti with crab and burnt beef were amazing.
This place is gorgeous. It's like stepping back in time, to a classic Hollywood 1940's movie set of a Grand Hotel. The food n service is uncredible. The Slow cooked veal n the pasta was an experience!
Probably best service in town. Great drinks and atmosphere. The food in incredible although 1-2 dishes are a bit lacking. I have been there 8 times and never left disappointed. Highly recommend it!
Orecchiette: It’s hard to go wrong with the handmade pasta at this legendary NYC joint, but we’re partial to the orecchiette with lamb neck sausage, broccoli rabe, ricotta salata and crispy porcini. Read more
Despite the grand dining room, the experience manages to be surprisingly intimate in the best way possible. Leave the decision making up to the impeccable staff and you won't be disappointed.
outstanding in every way! I had the minestrone (fresh, crisp (unbelievable!), poached lobster (best I ever had; to use an over-used phrase, but succulent(, & the celery sorbet is OUT OF THS WORLD!
Like the rest of the Del Posto menu, Mark Ladner's show-stopping baked lasagna combines the best of the Italian and Italian-American culinary traditions. Read more
The formal, fine dining jewel in Mario Batali's restaurant empire; consider their weekday prix-fixe lunch for the same exquisite food at a much lower price.
There are 130 layers in the 100 layer lasagna! Start with bolognese, besciamella and marinara, then add sheets of super thin pasta and repeat and repeat and repeat. Assembly takes 1.5 hours! Read more
Fancy and intimate setting; ideal for a nice meal with the parents. The food is very pricey, but it was still an enjoyable meal. My favorite dishes were the scampi linguini and lamb chops.
Treat yourself to the five course meal to taste as much authentic food as you can. We loved our Asian Spiced Duck cooked perfectly medium rare & complimented by a unique mix of hazelnuts and cherries.
Batali-Bastianchi's Michelin-starred Italian restaurant continues to offer one of the best lunches in the city, where you'll find standouts such as the Heritage Pork Trio and Vitello Tonnato.
got the 8 course tasting menu with wine pairing and loved it. every dish was good, and most of the wines were good. believe it or not, the bread and olive oil was spectacular and very memorable
Lunch is just as filling & decadent as dinner but at less than half the cost! Lunch is only available Mon to Fri and takes about 3 hours to get through all the courses. Perfect way to spend a day off!
The most showstopping dishes, intended for sharing, include hunks of lamb and veal and pitch-perfect risotto for two. The all-Italian wine list is suitably encyclopedic and exorbitantly priced-TimeOut
Chef Mark Ladner is quietly one of the best Italian chefs in the city, but Del Posto, a soaring, ultra-lavish spot in New York’s trendy Meatpacking District couldn’t seem less subtle.
Del Posto is one of the NYT restaurant critic Sam Sifton’s 50 favorite NYC restaurants. To see the full list, get The Scoop iPhone app, an inside guide to New York: NYTimes.com/thescoop
Probably some of the best desserts being served at any New York restaurant. If you don't want to commit to a full dinner here, have a drink at the bar and order a pasta and a dessert.
Those homemade cheese balls and house made mini baguettes are soo good. Those two are the reason for me to go there, on and on. Food is of course very good too
I still can't believe how delicious this food (and wine) was. It's $$$$ by any standard, but absolutely incredible. Luna piena pasta, truffled carne cruda antipasto and olive oil gelato are standouts.
One step into this space and you immediately understand why it has a Michelin star and a four-stars from the NYT. And that’s even before you taste Mark Ladner’s amazing food!
The small plates to start the meal, bread selection, green salad, chicken sausage orecchiette and butterscotch semifreddo were all amazing. And the service is great! 👍🏻
The three-course prix fixe lunch for $39 is one of the best deals in town! And because we’re little piggies we always go for the additional pasta course!
Eggplant in a dessert is only something I trust in the hands of the right pastry chef. Brooks Headley's version at Del Posto is utterly delicious. Read more
The regular tasting menu is excellent, highly recommend it; however the vegetarian tasting menu (after advance notice) was something the chef should be really ashamed of
Place is gorgeous! Spectacular interior design + top notch service + amazing food= perfect and worth ever evening. Tuscan feel in grandiose style all the way!
16 - 400 for a seated reception. The largest private room, called The Piemonte, has the look of a wine cellar, with arched ceilings and lots of candle lighting.
The Hundred Layer Lasagna has nearly become infamous not just for its size, but for its lengthy preparation time, as it steeps overnight to let the flavor set in. Read more
Another Mario Batali gem!! This restaurant is one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever been in! Food and service were off the charts! More upscale than Babbo.
A classy atmosphere with great service. We love their Spaghetti with Crab. We are salivating just thinking about eating here! We can’t wait to come back.
The garganelli verdi al ragu bolognese is divine and light, followed by the sliced duck breast (served raw). To finish, enjoy the mysteriously familiar taste from the extra virgin olive oil gelato.
Five courses was more than enough. It was particularly fun with a group, so you can sample each others intricate and delectable dishes. The Sommelier was amazing, great recommendations.
Awesome restaurant, had to leave my family there to eat because NO SHORTs allowed. But they will have an awesome experience, while I'm at Old Homestead w/ a burger and a beer.
Absolutely delicious food that can be customized as your dietary restrictions may require. I was served an outstanding tasting menu that was vegetarian and egg-free.
Del Posto is the richest and most refined creation of Joe Bastianich, Lidia Bastianich and Executive Chef Melissa Rodriguez. In October of 2010, Del Posto received a glowing four-star review from The New York Times, the first Italian restaurant to do so in nearly 40 years...
