- Jason BrewNovember 3, 2015One of the great cocktail bars you will ever visit and well worth the wait if there is one. They don't let in any more people than there are seats, so the vibe is always great and the service superbUpvoted 1 week ago
- It's hard to call this a "speakeasy" since its front door is anything but hidden. Still, the cocktails and cuisine here are some of the best prohibition-revival offerings in NYC.Upvoted 4 weeks ago
- Sean BuchananAugust 10, 2016Great cocktails all around. Good for groups just get there early or reserve a table as it tends to fill up after 7. The "to share" options are fantastic along with the Japanese liquor cocktails!Upvoted Sep 27
- Bradley KayFebruary 19, 2017Amazing bar, but too famous for its own good. If it's a weekend, go to Mace, Amor y Amargo, or Pouring Ribbons and save this for a weekday. It deserves little wait and full enjoyment.
- Giulia MMarch 9, 2019Worth the wait! (Tip: Arrive right when it opens at 6pm, short line and you’ll probably get a table). Waiters are very friendly and helpful - got a few off the menu drinks that were amazing!
- Morgan McKeeOctober 2, 2017Lived up to the hype! Drinks were delicious, scene was lovely. Only ended up waiting ~45 mins which was passed wonderfully at Amor y Amargo. Go a bit earlier around 10ish and you'll be good 😊
- Gary TorielloJanuary 17, 2015"King of Scots" - Apricot Infused Famous Grouse Scotch, Fresh Lemon & Pineapple Juice, Vanilla & Demerara Syrup, Westmalle Trappist Tripel Ale, Fee Brothers Whiskey Barrel Aged Bitters
- Alejandro HoyoJuly 12, 2016Everything os so good. If you're not sure what you want just describe what your in the mood for.
- Worthy of the hype, the cocktails here are some of the best in the city. The Short Change Hero, which used roasted pepper and pepper jelly, is the best cocktail I've ever had.
- Chelsea SamuelDecember 19, 2016Everything is good, but the menu can be overwhelming. Working with the insanely talented bartenders makes crafting a drink way more fun than ordering off a menu.
- Michael Reibel BoesenJune 3, 2018Just pure awesomeness.. got a Mezcal Old Fashioned and a regular. Both were amazing! Be there early if you want to get in without a wait!
- Joey JJuly 2, 2016Doctor Strange Love & Bourbon Birch. Can't go wrong. Death & Co. is one of my staples. Be prepared for a wait. They don't take reservations ahead of time.
- SwigNovember 12, 2014Great bar with delicious cocktails. The menu is very extensive but broken down by spirits so it is easier to choose. Try to sit at the bar to watch them mix drinks. Remember to Swig your drink.
- ben mAugust 18, 2014Tell the bartenders what flavors you like and let them choose. Go before a late dinner. The wait time won't be as long as the doorman says, but make sure your whole party is there.
- Nate SJanuary 13, 2018Cocktails are great (duh), but the cheese curds are hands down the best cheese curds I’ve had outside of Wisconsin.
- LeezaSeptember 11, 2014Lovely place with great music and friendly bartenders. Beautiful decor. Interesting drinks, fancy but not always tasty. Beware the Doorman tells everyone who arrives it'll be 10 min. It isn't.
- Adrian PhillipsFebruary 3, 2017Love this spot. Come here late if you're looking to skip the longer waits earlier in the evening. Each cocktail is brilliant, these guys know what they're doing.
- Gaia BennettJune 11, 2015The drinks are all expertly mixed. The use of all their esoteric ingredients will make your head spin, but one sip and you'll understand the difference between a bartender and a mixologist. Excellent.
- Mark BramhillJune 25, 2016Great cocktails and atmosphere. Not cheap and often a long wait, but if you're not in a rush or can get here early it's great. Really enjoyed the "Hot Gossip" and the "Beyond the Sea".
- Karen HuangJune 6, 2018My favourite bar in New York so far. It’s a crying shame that’s it’s not in the World’s Top 50. I liked the Riverchild so much that I ordered two.
- Red & BrownAugust 22, 2015An exemplary cocktail bar if there ever was one. They've set the standard since 2006 and it's clear why. Drink, drink, & be merry here, regardless of your preferences.
- The Corcoran GroupNovember 17, 2011Wanna know how to get in…leave your number with the bouncer and he’ll call you! Once inside, you’ll enjoy the best cocktails of your life…especially the Oaxaca Old-Fashioned.
- Veronika SonsevJanuary 20, 2014Great cocktails. Best in the city. I enjoyed the blazing saddles. If bourbon is not your thing, just ask for a recommendation. The bartenders know what they are doing. Trust them.
- Chelsea RenaudAugust 30, 2015First dates & small plates. Fancy cocktails are ridiculous: get the Cure For Pain and Rita Hayworth. Food rundown: tuna tartare, truffle mac, filet, lobster brioche rolls, mushroom tart. Infatuation
- EAugust 26, 2015Sit at the bar! Ask for recommendations from the bartender. The only downside is that the kerosene lamps made me feel bit dizzy but maybe that's just from the delicious cocktails.
- Ronak DayaNovember 28, 2014Best cocktails in the city. Small venue, but if you can get a spot, get the ink & dagger. Also, try one of their brandy-based drinks. Can't go wrong!
- Ross WSSeptember 5, 2016At the vanguard of the classic cocktail revival, David Kaplan and Ravi DeRossi created Death & Co in 2007. Ranked fourth in the 2011 World's Best 50 bars list, this is an industry classic.
- Cole KennedyOctober 1, 2019Great cocktails that you might actually have a chance to enjoy the same night you choose to put your name in, unlike PDT.Upvoted Sep 13
- Village VoiceNovember 21, 2013This hidden gem features a delicious Piccadilly Punch. It's hard apple cider, nutmeg and lemon oleo-saccharum which all collide for a malty and seasonally-focused concoction.
- LeslieDecember 31, 2012best cocktails of all time. it's expensive and the wait can be formidable, but it is worth it. if you love tequila, ask for the yama blanca.
- Lori LuoAugust 10, 2014Service may not be the standout here, but the excellent cocktails, such as the Gypsy Wedding (gin, aquavit, lime juice, grapefruit juice, and honey) make it well worth the wait.
- JeffreyDecember 16, 2013A constant innovator, this spot is home to more than a few modern classics. Difficult at times to squeeze past the door, worth it when you make it into the dimly lit spot for mixological excellence.
- Amanda RellaJuly 6, 2017Put your name down early in the night and you'll be able to get a couple bars in beforehand. I love this place. The Hawaii Five-O drink is amazing!
- Henry BridgeJanuary 12, 2016Knowledgeable if not overly friendly bartenders. Bartenders choice after I said I liked Old Fashioneds were a delicious Jekyll & Hyde and tasty tequila old fashioned.
- ChrisDecember 23, 2019Cool spot, but plan on a wait for a seat. I had the Sea Eagle, which was good and one of the less expensive drinks on the menu.
- Mike McBryanDecember 11, 2014Favorite cocktail bar in NYC. Speakeasy atmosphere but the management / bartenders / bouncers are all super nice and not pretentious. Will happily take your # and call when the table is ready.
- This is my one of my fav speakeasy's in NYC. Have tried a bunch of cocktails here and have never been disappointed. Great selection and the ambience is so cozy.
- Carl FigueiredoDecember 8, 2015The quality, complexity, & craftsmanship of the cocktail menu at D&C put it at the top tier of cocktails bars in NYC, USA, & arguably the world. That being said the unnecessary pretentiousness detracts
- Gary TorielloJanuary 17, 2015"St. George & The Dragon"Red Breast 12 yr Irish Whisky, Laphroaig 10 yr Scotch, Punt e Mes Red Vermouth, Bénédictine DOM, Pernod Absinthe
- BarChickAugust 14, 2013This place screams naughty, so we’re into it. Soft jazz playing in the background makes BarChick wonder which of her lovers she will bring here. http://barchick.com/find-a-bar/new-york/death-co-1
- Martin S.November 28, 2015The cocktails are hit or miss, but always strong. The bartenders are skilled and efficient. James at the door is very polite despite having a hard job. The music was hard rock on Friday night.
- Caroline BazbazOctober 17, 2011Best drinks ever; and coolest speakeasy with a dash of hipness that NYC is missing. A great place to go by yourself, and sit at the bar, meet people. Bring an egg (90210) to get in on busy nights....
- BravoJanuary 27, 2010My absolute favorite bar. They mix the drinks in the old style using different size ice cubes and raw eggs. Bartenders are very experienced and awesome. -Susie Brunet, Launch My Line
- Wesley A'HarrahFebruary 1, 2018Great for dates or quiet chats. Show up early or make a reservation (though they’ll usually seat you earlier than they project) and order an Awkwardly Tongue Tied.
- Carlo MFebruary 28, 2013Myra Breckinridge (Laphroaig 10yr scotch, sugar cane sugar, lime juice, absinthe, fresh mint) on the Resurrection list is a must have!
- Come here for the cocktails but don't miss out on the mac 'n' cheese for a great snack.
- Linda HarrisonJuly 11, 2018Love it!! Great vibe, and super romantic, the whole place is lit by candle light. Albeit expensive, but great cocktails.
- Marc SMay 24, 2015Choice of all the standard cocktails, some classics resurrected or reinvented, and their own concoctions.
- Michael Fox-RabinovitzApril 12, 2015Relaxed vibe, very knowledgeable and experienced bartenders, creatively complex and delicious cocktails with different bases... Great date place
