Not comparable to Whistler, but it's a nice alternative since it's only 1-hour drive from Vancouver. Highly recommend ignoring the parking attendant to park closer to the lifts.

Hardly 30 minutes from Vancouver, Cypress is the locals choice to get some turns in! Awesome low-key vibe and a really fun mountain to spend the day on

Very good for sknowboarding. The store there also has some equipments that's cheaper then in Vancouver downtown.

Head over to the Crazy Raven chair. While the chair may be slower, it has some of the best terrain on Cypress. Its also a lot less crowded during peak periods.

Cross country skiing here is great! lots of trails, and there is a lodge by the frozen lake with hot food.
