Fave SF Restaurants 2014

cyn k: absolutely my fave ethiopian in the bay area. i get the vegetarian platter with the tibsie fish. i add on the beef dishes (both are great) if there are more than 3 people.

cyn k: best pupusas in sf. get the pork/beans/cheese ones, slather with hot sauce, and eat with the slaw. there's a pupusa platter which comes with 2 pupusas and rice and beans. i just get 1 with a salad.

cyn k: They did the most amazing "pork cooked like ham" that I've ever had. It was like bacon in every bite without the fat.

cyn k: Octopus stew. This alone makes the place phenomenal.

cyn k: Get the seasonal rice, tofu, chawan-mushi, and grilled mackerel.

cyn k: Margarita pizza or the one with prosciutto and arugala. The meatballs are great too. And- of course- all the cured meats.

cyn k: I like the basic ramen with extra green onions. You can get a side of rice with fried pork for $5 or so.

cyn k: Great popup with one of my fave prix fixes in the city. Everything we had was surprising and amazing.

cyn k: My fave in-SF Korean place. I recommend the beef pancakes, grilled mackerel, and combo "Soon Tofu", medium spicy.

cyn k: Bun Bo Hue if you want spicy soup. Cha Gio for spring rolls with lettuce and dipping sauce on the side.

cyn k: My fave dinner+cocktail place in the city. Try the barrel aged negronis. And the kale salad, meatloaf, (and foie gras).

cyn k: The Saigon sandwich as a salad. Instead of a roll, they'll put the salmon and toppings on an beautiful bed of mixed greens. I try to avoid the french fries because they're too perfect.

cyn k: Spicy miso, beef + lamb combo, then red bean ice cream.

cyn k: Plain rice pudding with a dash of cinnamon.

cyn k: Creamiest ice cream in the city. Their chocolate is amazing.

cyn k: Best donuts in SF. Go after 10pm to get them fresh.

cyn k: i love the special miso soup and the shira-ae salad. their tempura is great too.

cyn k: really good cheap chinese. i recommend the orange chicken, basil eggplant, and chow mein.

cyn k: good omakase at the sushi bar. the wait can suck though.

cyn k: good sushi. the spoons of happiness are amazing.

cyn k: still my fave brunch spot. i've finally stopped ordering the soft scramble eggs 100% of the time, and am loving whatever other special savory plates they're offering.

cyn k: breakfast burrito. plain eggs and beans on a whole wheat tortilla. and at least 2 containers of the casera salsa.

cyn k: great pizza, salads, pasta, and cocktails. just wish it wasn't so crowded all the time.

cyn k: Not actually a restaurant, but their sausages are so good, I need to add it here (doesn't take long to prep anyway!). Try their housemade smoked duck, buffalo bacon, or their garlicaholics.
